Free nights everywhere, and now in your part of the world. Intercontinental Hotels launched a new contest in February which offers its patrons in India, Middle – East Asia and Africa to win weekend packages and free nights in these countries. As always, a social media contest like this is pretty easy! They want you to log on to Facebook, and you can choose between www.facebook.com/HolidayInnIMEA, www.facebook.com/crowneplaza and www.facebook.com/intercontinental. Once there, hop on to the Memorable Weekends tab, upload a picture, describe why it is a memorable weekend for you, and get your friends to vote. You could upload pictures to all of the brand pages as well, but the prictures can’t be the same on all of them. Pictures…

The 2 Month Grace Period for Priority Club Reward Nights
Like you know by now, IHG has went ahead and adjusted their Reward Chart, to take effect from 18 January 2012. I also indicated there that if you want to take the benefit of the old award chart in the case of the 25% IHG properties where the cost of awards is going up, you do have a 2 month grace period to book on the old chart via the PC service Centre till March 18. This has now been confirmed by the Loyalty Traveler on MilePoint. He states after a chat with IHG officials that: Priority Club members have a 60-day window from January 18 to book hotels through the customer service center at the old lower cost or…
PriorityClub Reward Nights devalued and 2 months grace period
A few hours ago I blogged about the PriorityClub Reward Nights valuations being readjusted. However, at that time, Priority Club seemed to have forgotten to put up the award charts on the table. They did do that shortly after and here is how the new chart looks like: IHG has usually followed a hotel brand based redemption level, and in this latest round, they’ve just added more tiers in the redemption tables. I’d have assumed this would have happened after the points they minted away in last year’s promos. Here are the key changes, which are going to affect about 25% of the hotels: Candlewoods at 20K (New 20K tier added) Intercontinentals at 50K (New 50K tier added) Holiday Inns…
Get 100$ off your next flight with the IHG ‘Gotta Get 100’ promotion!
IHG released a Black Friday promotion this past week via its Twitter handle @IHG_Deals. Using this, you could get a 100$ Flight Credit on any US RT flight after completing a weekend stay in any IHG brand hotel. You could get upto 3 flight credits in this manner till April 29, 2012. The promotion entails signing up. After registering, you need to have a consecutive 2 night stay (weekends only) at a single IHG brand property. After the stay, you have to send your Stay Folio via fax, email or snail mail to the travel agent who is enlisted for this promotion (ATG). They will validate your stay and get you a PIN for getting your $100 off, which again,…
Here is how to win a free IHG hotel night
Earlier today, IHG, the parent company of the InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and other brands of hotels launched the Best Price Guarantee. The deal is simple, they believe their website has the best prices for an IHG hotel, and if someone can find a lower price, they will give away a free night and match the lower price throughout the remainder duration of the stay. To celebrate this guarantee being launched, IHG is giving out 250 free nights to participants in the US, Canada and UK. All you have to do is to tweet to @priorityclub about what you would do with the free night, along with a hashtag #BestPriceGuarantee and the link to the rules at bit.ly/rulesihg. They…
Priority Club fall promo is live now!
Just a reminder for all of you, that the Priority Club fall promo, which I blogged about a while ago, is now live since September 15. The promo, valid till December 31, 2011 allows you to to earn upto 80K Priority Club points for your upcoming stays at the IHG properties. IHG is trying to get you to experience more of their brands rather than tuck in at your favourite Intercontinental or Holiday Inn, and hence you get a higher multiplier every time you stay at a new brand (uptil the 4th one). Check out my analysis of the fall offer here.
‘Crack the Case’ inspires IHG Priority Club fall promo!
The IHG Priority Club just announced its fall promotion valid from September 15, 2011 to December 31, 2011. This one is called a ‘Brand Multiplier‘ and seems to be inspired by the ‘Crack The Case‘ promotion that ran about a year back from PCR. ‘Crack the Case’ was a customized promotion and each participant selected by PCR was allocated a few tasks and on completion of each task, one would get a certain number of bonus points. My ‘latches’, as they were called, included one of staying at at least 4 different IHG brands in the promotion period and I’d be awarded 4400 bonus PCR points. So, that was one easy kill! This fall, PCR has taken inspiration from the…
