Jet Airways’ meal pre-ordering service does not work, no really!

If there is one wish I have in this lifetime, that is Jet Airways fixing its meal services. However, this post is not about that, but about their recently launched meal pre-ordering service. In December, Jet Airways’ started to offer meal pre-ordering for their premium cabin passengers, flying on international flights.  As per Jet Airways, you can pick a meal from the options offered online between 60 days to 2 days out. I was booked to fly with them in January to Vietnam on their newly introduced flight to Ho Chi Minh City, in Business Class. So, I decided to take a spin on this meal service. Over many days, I selected meals, however nothing stuck on the ticket. Every time…

Gary, who has been a CEO at Air New Zealand, and before that the deputy CEO & CFO at Qantas, has a track record in domestic and international airline management, and I hope he’ll be able to work on the integration of Etihad and Jet Airways well, and lead its international expansion going forward. For me as a…

Jet Airways to sell 24% stake to Etihad Airways as well as JetPrivilege

This afternoon in India, Jet Airways’ Board of Directors put their agreement to receive a fresh induction of $380 million by Etihad Airways, who in turn will get 24% of the expanded equity capital of Jet Airways, thus making Jet Airways a part of the Equity alliance of Etihad Airways, where Etihad is sewing up partnerships with various airlines by picking up equity stakes in them. I first wrote about this possibility back in September and while the deal was close to being struck then, it took quite some back and forth in the few months ahead to come to a consensus. Etihad confirmed later in the day that they were taking the 24% stake for $379 million dollars, and…

Kingfisher Airlines networth eroded! IT systems responsible for oneworld delays

Kingfisher Airlines finally came around to accepting that their networth has been eroded when it announced its results on 15th February 2012, in a quietly posted investor relations presentation on its website at midnight. This was a statement made by the auditors of the airlines quite a while back in September 2011, but Kingfisher Airlines always disputed this statement. The amusing statement tucked away in the notes to the financial statements say: The Company has incurred substantial losses and its networth has been eroded.
