I know everyone is excited about the new Jet Airways American Express Credit Cards which were launched a couple of days back. I’ve got tons of mail and tweets and phone calls asking about the cards. I will get down to dissecting all the 3 cards for you folks soon. At this point of time, I wanted to remind you, that if you are looking at the ICICI Bank credit card in tie-up with Jet Airways, you should apply or call up for your card upgrade now, since the November 30, 2012 deadline is close for getting the extra bonus with the card. You could read all about the extra bonus offer here. Related Posts: Jet Airways ICICI Bank CC:…

Breaking: Jet Airways American Express Platinum card launched
The news I’ve been waiting for. Like you know, Jet Airways parted way with Citibank for their decade old co-branded credit card and tied up with three partners instead: HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and American Express. I’d talked about the imminent launch of this product last month. HDFC Bank went first with releasing their product, and ICICI Bank went next. These have been in the market for a while now. American Express seemed to take some time, since they had to first disengage with the Kingfisher co-branded credit card they already had in operation to launch the new product with Jet Airways co-branding. Anyways, all the hard work is behind us and the new credit card has now been launched.…
Right now is a good time to fly Jet Airways First Class!
On award redemptions, obviously! Jet Airways F suites, fitted on their Boeing 777-300 ERs only, are consistently rated as one of the finest travel product in the air, high up there with Lufthansa, Emirates and the others. In fact, Turkish and Thai Airways, who were using 9W planes on a lease built some quality soft-product around Jet’s hard product.Have a look at the promotional picture from their website below. You can check out the website here, a trip report here, and more pictures here! Pity, when I flew them Mumbai to London a few years back, I did not save the pictures else I’d have shared some of my own pictures with you as well. But I can tell you,…
Is the Jet Airways Amex on its way in soon?
Jet Airways ran the “Wheel of Fortune” contest in June, where it asked for your guesses on which were the banks it was going to partner with. The prize for the correct answer was going to be a complimentary first year membership to the bank’s card you picked (it was correct), and later on, modified to become 1,000 JP Miles. Now, in July 9W announced that it had formed a partnership with three banks: HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and American Express. And while there was a lot of push and shove on how Jet Airways was going to honor the complimentary first year membership, they figured that along the way. The 1,000 JP Miles for HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank…
Jet Airways withdraws Lounge Access for Silver members
Jet Airways is under tremendous pressure, yes we know that. 75% or whereabouts of its domestic flights now fly under the JetKonnect tag, we know that as well. It is withdrawing international routes, including the latest one MAA-BRU. And while it revamped lounge access policies just 9 months back and revamped its JetPrivilege program only about 6 months back, it has now decided to go onto its ‘enhancements’ again. Be aware that lounge access may be bought in the future if this post of mine is true. I just received an email a while back, where Jet Airways has withdrawn lounge access for all Silver members from the domestic network, which by the way, includes yours truly since I am…
And the 20% off on JetPrivilege redemptions continues
Jet Airways had brought out a fabulous redemption offer where they were inviting travellers to redeem JPMiles for 20% less on domestic legs. It is actually a very good offer, because this allows you to redeem a full-service 9W flight in economy for the same mileage as a redemption on a low-cost carrier on PremierMiles (i.e., BOM-DEL is 8,400 PM for an LCC, and 8,400 JPMiles for a 9W flight). The promotion was valid for redemption and travel till December 30, 2012. Now, they are extending it to March 31, 2013. This might be a change for good, or a phase when Jet Airways is trying to encourage redemptions so that they can burn some miles off their balance sheet.…
JetPrivilege clarifies on ‘Wheel of Fortune’
I’ve been wondering a while about how the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ was going to be honoured by Jet Airways, and some answers had begin to emerge when the complimentary credit card mailers were sent out last week to those who picked HDFC Bank. Now, I got an official response from Jet Airways a couple of days back and I am reproducing the relevant portions for you here below: Dear AJ,This is with reference to your feedback on Twitter and your telephonic conversation with my colleague ____ at the JetPrivilege Service Centre. Allow us to respond to your queries point wise:- 1. All those JetPrivilege members who had participated in the Wheel Of Fortune Contest and had chosen any one of…
Finally, Jet Airways makes good free co-branded credit cards for ‘Wheel of Fortune’
It seems every now and then, corporates require a little push and pull to be reminded about promises they have made to customers. While it took a while to remind Jet Airways that it had promised the members of its frequent flyer program Jet Privilege, free first year membership to their new co-branded credit cards, it now looks like the nudging is working. Some members who selected HDFC Bank as the co-branded credit card partner of Jet Airways, have reported to have received these emails over the past couple of days: While the 1,000 JP Miles were already credited to these member accounts in August 2012 (check your account), it seems 9W took a long while before working out the…

How to get the Jet Airways HDFC Bank / ICICI Bank Credit Cards?
The Jet Airways co-branded credit cards were much looked forward to by me, because these are perhaps going to be the only Indian co-branded cards for a while ahead. I wrote about the Jet Airways HDFC Bank Credit Card about a month back. While I am not very impressed by the card and decided not to apply initially, to inform all of my readers about the “Wheel of Fortune” contest outcome, I tweeted to Jet Airways to ask what was the outcome going to be. Have a look at our exchange here: Now Jet Airways passed on my details to HDFC Bank who subsequently called me, but claimed ignorance of the fee waiver. If you picked HDFC Bank as your…
And I picked up a new Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card
I am not so much of a card churner, as you all know. I don’t actively seek new lines of credit from banks. The best I usually do is to call the bank to switch me to a new product by moving my existing line of credit to the new card. That is how I got rid of my Citibank Jet Airways Credit Card and got myself the PremierMiles Credit Card last year. However, a few weeks back, before the whole ICICI/HDFC Jet-cobranding effort was revealed, I was quietly beginning to like a new credit card product. It is an innocent looking ‘Platinum’ credit card in today’s era when perhaps I only carry more premium cards in my wallet and…
