SpiceJet, the Indian no-frills carrier, has received another notice for “extended surveillance”, where they won’t be able to operate more than 50% flights of their schedule. Here are the details.
SpiceJet has been ordered by the Government of India to cut back 50% of its schedule and will get the rights to operate these flights only after they can display operational reliability. However, the airline says, it is really not affected, as it is already operating a truncated schedule.
It turns out that SpiceJet will not be inducting 11 737 MAX aircraft which have already been manufactured by Boeing, and these aircraft are now heading to Southwest instead!
