My 2015 Indian Credit Cards Mileage Earning Strategy
Credit Cards play a huge role in earning miles in the current scenario around India. Here are all the credit cards I am spending on currently, along with my rationale for each of the credit cards. Have a look.
JetPrivilege extending validity of miles for co-branded card holders
I just received a wonderful surprise from JetPrivilege in my email, something that maybe a lot of you would be receiving shortly or have already received as well. JetPrivilege just sent out an email stating that the validity of all my JetPrivilege miles was being extended from 3 years to 5 years. I wasn’t ever worried about their expiry due to my JetPrivilege Platinum status, but seems like I have more time now even in case I don’t have Platinum status anymore. The email states that you need to hold at least one active co-branded credit card to get yourself the 2 year extension of your mileage balance expiry. This means not just holding the card but having made at…
Altitude Lounges: The good yet empty lounges in Mumbai and Delhi
Altitude lounges are the lounges established by American Express in Mumbai CSI airport’s terminal 1 and Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 on the domestic departures side. These lounges are operated for the credit card franchises of American Express in India, such as the ICICI Bank Jet Airways American Express card and the IndusInd Bank Jet Airways American Express Card. I reviewed the Mumbai lounge and the Delhi lounge last year. Now, both these lounges are excellent in terms of the quality of food and services, much on par with the American Express Lounges operated by Amex for Amex Plat card holders in the two cities. However, they both don’t get any traffic, in spite of being in business for a couple…
My Credit Card Strategy 2014 update

Anyhow, lets take a look now at how things are going, and what may be the plan ahead. Here are the credit cards I already have, and my view on them. Citibank PremierMiles Visa (Keep): This is my favourite credit card all around, and if you’ve poked around this blog, you would have noticed I love this product. I intend to keep it and use it as my primary card to book airline tickets and make use of all the special Citibank promotions that come 3-4 times a year, such…
Jet Airways launches co-branded credit cards with IndusInd Bank
Jet Airways has existing co-branded credit cards with HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, American Express and a co-branded debit card with HDFC Bank. And now, they have launched the fifth product in the market, which is in collaboration with IndusInd Bank, called the Jet Airways IndusInd Odyssey Credit Card. There is also a lower product called the Jet Airways IndusInd Voyage Credit Card. The product is similar to ICICI Bank’s card in the sense that IndusInd is offering a Visa Signature version as well as an American Express version, and you can choose to have either or both for the same amount of annual fees. Lets go over the benefits then for these products: Sign-up bonus: For the Odyssey cards, you…
