Delhi Airport is shuffling flights from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 for SpiceJet and IndiGo from September 5, 2019 onwards. Check if your flight has been affected.
SpiceJet has applied for slots to operate flights to London Heathrow and Manchester with an A330-300. It plans to operate daily flights on both the routes.
IndiGo is developing Kolkata as a hub and is focussing on the Buddhist circuit. IndiGo added flights from Gaya to Kolkata and Varanasi and also to Hong Kong from Kolkata. In addition, IndiGo is adding a new flight to Yangon from Kolkata.
IndiGo managed to secure bilateral rights out of Jet Airways kitty to add 84 weekly international flights. Using those, IndiGo will restart flights to Singapore and Bangkok from Mumbai after a long hiatus of more than six years.
The IndiGo promoters are fighting for the control of the company and both promoters have sent letters to SEBI in July 2019 sharing their side of the story today. This is not going to go well, I think!
IndiGo has changed the way they will charge you for changes and cancellations. In this case, be careful, because you could now be paying more for changes/cancellations up to 96 hours before departure! On the other hand, changes will be free within 24 hours of booking now.
IndiGo has announced that they will launch nonstop flights from Delhi to Chengdu from Septemeber 15, 2019. This will be IndiGo’s first flight to China, and apart from Air India, will make them the only Indian airline to operate to China.
