American Airlines’ AAdvantage and Hyatt have partnered for a new American Airlines Hyatt promotion where you can earn an additional bonus of 1,000 AAdvantage miles when you stay at a Hyatt Place or Hyatt House hotel through January 31, 2019.

To get this bonus, you’d have to first register for the promotion on the Hyatt website before November 30, 2018. Make sure you sign up for AAdvantage if you haven’t already. Once that’s done book your stays at any of the Hyatt Place or Hyatt House properties through January 31, 2019.

You have two options when you check-in at the hotel. In the first one, you get 1000 Bonus AAdvantage miles and 500 AAdvantage miles (the standard miles earned) per stay. In the other option, you get 1000 bonus AAdvantage miles and the usual base Hyatt points on the stay.

The number of stays for this promotion is capped at ten, so the maximum number of bonus AAdvantage miles you can earn stands at 10,000. Let me remind you that these are award miles and that they do not qualify you for any status.

Hyatt has some good properties here. The Hyatt Place West London and The Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit are solid options when you stay in these cities. Looking for something more exotic? How about spending a long weekend at the Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay in Morocco? There are many Hyatt Place hotels in the USA, so this should be an easy win. Also, easy wins for the Indians with the Hyatt Place in Gurugram, Goa and many other cities. The Rameshwaram one is fantastic by the way.

Bottomline

The AAdvantage-World of Hyatt is the second double dip promotion that I’ve seen this year after the Lufthansa-Hilton one. They used to be quite common till some time ago. Maybe they are making a comeback now?
