Indian Hotels Company Limited, the parent company of Taj Hotels and Palaces, have been running a great promotional offer for the employees of the Tata Group and their friends and families for a while now, which I thought I should post for those who have not heard of this offer via internal materials so far. Called the IHCL World of Privileges, the promotion offers stays at IHCL hotels in rooms/suites of participating Taj Hotels are low prices. Here is everything we can tell you about the World of Privileges Taj Hotels can offer you.

IHCL World of Privileges Taj

Through IHCL World of Privileges, the hotel company is offering Tata Group employees (including firms such as TCS, Tata Starbucks, Vistara, Voltas and so many others), the ability to buy kits that provide benefits at many IHCL Hotels, including meals, spa and so on, for very low prices.

Any Tata Group employee can buy up to 5 of either variant of the booklets each, and these booklets can be further gifted to family/friends. A few things to remember though, are that you can’t earn TIC points for the purchase of the booklet, nor can you buy it with a Taj Experiences Gift Card. The validity of this voucher booklet is 1 year from the date of purchase.

GST has to be paid for on the use of various vouchers, and at what price will the service be attributable for GST has been defined in the terms. But it is a small price to pay for the services.

IHCL World of Privileges Taj Classic

This package, which is sold only to Tata group employees, comes for INR 9990, and offers the following benefits:

• Two-night stay in a standard room with breakfast: A stay in a standard room for up to two people in a participating hotel at Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta hotels and includes breakfast for up to two people. This voucher cannot be used for stays at Taj palaces. You need to book at least 72 hours out.
• Upgrade on a paid stay
• Brunch experience for 2
• 60-minute treatment at the spa
• Salon experiences such as Haircut, Hair wash/Blow-dry, Regular Shave, Waxing (full hand and full legs) and Hair Deep Conditioning.

Is this a good promotion?

Hell, yes! While hotel rates are at a low, Taj Hotels has usually managed to keep their premium, at least for their top-end properties. For instance, this is the price per night of the suite at a Taj Falaknuma Palace on a random date, and this suite is priced similarly through the months. So one is getting this at 16% of the price.

Remember, this is apart from the other perks you get beyond the Suite which is valuable as well. Similarly, for the Classic pack, here is a hotel room example at one of the best in Delhi. You get a stay at 35% of the usual prices.

Bottomline

Tata Group employees who love to travel are in for a treat. I’m hoping they acquire these voucher booklets and are able to use them for travel after they are vaccinated. Or gift them to friends and family, and me! Working for the Tata Group comes with its perks, and apart from the Club Vistara Tata Tier, this is one more of them.
