Finnair – the oneworld alliance member from Finland and Helsinki Airport have recently launched the “Quality Hunters” initiative where they are looking out for the one big idea which they will implement to make their flying experience better in the coming year 2012. As a part of this initiative, earlier this year they appointed 7 Quality Hunters who now have the licence to fly around globally looking for ideas which Finnair and the Helsinki Airport can implement. Must say there is quite the idea wreck there. There are nice ones like noise cancelling headphones on rent, to whacky ones like airport speed dating! I see another “Up in the air” being produced shortly, this one, with Finnair mileage hunters on the prowl.

I’ll just post a short list of some of my favourite ones:

Recognise gold and platinum status …  (aaah, the status charm, works always! 🙂 )

Reserve overhead bin space … (for premium cabin travellers and loyal travellers! Why did no one think of this before 😉 )

Rent out Bose noise-cancelling earphones… (I am beginning to like the sound of this)

The Airport Nightclub … (Give those lounges a break. Will they give complimentary access on Amex Plat and Centurion?)

Get a nice seatmate!  (a.k.a. a date in the air, or just cordial talk? And what about those who don’t get a match?)

These quality hunters have been posting up their ideas at QualityHunters2.com, which practically looks like another version of BoardingArea with all the airline and airport pictures flowing there. 😉 Most of all, you have your say with picking which ideas are going to make it to the next level and add your own to the list.

Uptil 29th November, you have the chance to bring your ideas on the table, and get other people to vote on them. On 29th November, the joint team of Finnair and Helsinki Airport picks up the ideas with the most amount of acceptance and Buzz as the potential winning ideas. Then, you get to vote and finalise one idea right up till 11th December 2011.
