IHG is really the first one off the bat with their 2015 promotion, which is very similar to their customised promotions these days such as the Big Win. I gave a miss to their 2014 “Into the Nights” promotion as I focussed on getting my Hyatt Diamond status lined up for 2015. The Intercontinental Hotel Group came up with a great promotion yesterday for members in India. Called India Free Nights, the promotion offers you a free night across the world in IHG’s 4700 hotels for staying 3 nights in any IHG Hotel in India. Between November 17, 2015 and April 30, 2015, for every 3 nights you will spend at any IHG hotel in India or Nepal, you get credited with one free night, up to a maximum of 3 free nights. The US Travel Association works out promotions for the travellers every year, and offers 5 weeks of the Daily Getaways promotions. Now, a few chain hotels such as Hyatt and InterContinental Hotel Group, work with the USTA to offer packages of points for a good price. Hyatt offered a total of about 100 packages or so, which went out pretty quick (a few seconds). However, InterContinental Hotels Group offers a huge variety and 1000s of packages, some of which are still available. I am not sure if I am affected by this news or not, but this morning I was fixing up some travel reservations and I happened to hop over to the IHG website. I’m due to stay at the InterContinental Marine Drive later this month, because I managed to get a shot at the PointsBreak where it was going for 5000 points per night. Last weekend was an overwhelming one, mostly for reasons that a strenuous travel schedule for this year was coming to an end, and it was the birthday of my partner and I’d decided to surprise her. The promotion will have hotel stays booked for stays between 23 October to 22 November 2013 at 50% to 75% discount from their usual points price. Properties are spread out across China, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada, Germany, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, Mexico, UAE, Dominican Republic and the United States.
