Hyatt offering 2 nights for price of 1 across India

Hyatt did an excellent 50% off promotion in India earlier this year, which allowed me to earn Diamond status with them on a cheaper price than what I would have usually paid. The good news is that for a limited period, under the Google Online Sale Festival, they are back with the promotion again. Now, as the lean season sets in, Hyatt has brought in promotions for buy 1 get 1 night free yet again, valid for bookings made by December 31, 2014 and stay between December 20, 2014 and January 11, 2015, excluding the night of December 31, 2014. Under this promotion, the second night is priced free on use of the code, GOSF14, along with guaranteed 2 pm…

My experience in completing the Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond Challenge

Hyatt’s Gold Passport program is known to be one of the best loyalty recognition programs out there for hotel guests, and is the Kool Aid for miles and points bloggers such as yours truly. However, I’ve not held their Diamond Status for an extended period of time ever, largely because of my irregular stay patterns with respect to hotels. I’m not a lawyer or a consultant or a full-time blogger, so for me, I did not have a circumstance to do 25 stays or 50 nights to get the status. Hyatt also has another generous offer to get you to Diamond status however. They will allow you to enrol in the Hyatt Diamond Challenge, which grants you the Diamond status…

Hotel Review: Grand Hyatt, Mumbai

I’ve been spending a lot of time away from home recently, and I just wanted to spend some downtime over the a weekend. However, that was not going to be possible if I decided to stay home because something or the other would have been tugging for my attention. Owing to this, I decided to spend a weekend in the hotels, and I spent one night at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai, and another at the Hyatt Regency Mumbai. While I’d been to the Grand Hyatt Mumbai a lot of times, I’d never stayed there. So, after a long day at work, I headed straight to the hotel and arrived there about 6 PM. I landed up at the check-in desk…

Hotel Review: Hyatt Regency Mumbai

Like I mentioned in this post, I really needed to get out of my house and get some downtime over the last weekend. So, I decided to check out the Hyatt Regency and the Grand Hyatt Mumbai over the weekend. Hyatt Regency is an airport hotel, while the Grand Hyatt is the suburban hotel in Mumbai. While I have been to the Grand Hyatt a few times to attend events or grab a bite, it was the first time I was going to be over at the Hyatt Regency Mumbai. I arrived at the hotel and went to the lobby check-in desk, where the hotel had a room ready for me. I was informed that I was booked in the…

Do Hyatt properties in India do a good job at delivering benefits?

File this under the section of rants. I’ve been in and out of work trips over the past couple of weeks, and I really needed a break from minding my own business, so I decided to check into the Hyatt hotels in Mumbai for some rest and recuperation. I’ve just checked out of the Grand Hyatt Mumbai, and checked into the Hyatt Regency Mumbai. Now, while I’ve had some superb experiences with Hyatt properties around India, I’ve begin to realise they are not all made equal. While the Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa, consistently makes me feel special and good about holding on to Hyatt’s Diamond Tier, the Hyatt Pune also did an above and beyond job by upgrading…

Hotel Review: Hyatt Pune

A few weeks ago, Hyatt launched a Monsoon promotion in India, where they offered a flat 50% off on room rates. This forced me to do some advance planning for some of my future travel plans, and I gladly gave them away to Hyatt since it gave me an opportunity to try out properties at significantly less than publicly available prices. One of the places I headed up to was Pune, for some quick rest & recuperation and meeting my brother who currently lives in Pune. Me and my fiancée got into Pune about mid-day from Mumbai, and we checked into the hotel straight away, after trying out Uber for the first time in Pune. Hyatt Hotels is a full…

Hyatt Gold Passport rolling out targeted promotions: Upto 50K GP Bonuses

Hyatt Gold Passport is perhaps a very very good program, except I don’t always get to appreciate them because of their limited availability where I am present. Now, Hyatt is back with promotions for the September – November 2014 quarter, a time which is usually packed with business travel. This is a rehash of the Hyatt New Possibilities promotion, which ran same time last year. Except, this time around, they are doing targeted promotions. Here are the few offers I’ve heard of so far: Offer 1: Upto 50,000 Bonus Gold Passport Points Stay 5 Nights: Get 5000 Bonus Points Stay 10 Nights: Get 10000 Bonus Points (Total 15000 Bonus Points) Stay 15 Nights: Get 150000 Bonus Points (Total 30000 Bonus…

A great gesture from Park Hyatt Goa

We all live in an ever changing world, right? Plans change all the time, but usually for business travellers. Once upon a time I did not make it to NYC in time because I had a flat tire on my plane. I had to spend a few days after trying to convince the hotel about the fact they should not charge for no show in that case. A few days ago, I was tossing and turning, trying to talk myself out of a Hyatt Diamond Trial. And I signed up anyways. Like a lot of my readers or followers on Twitter may have known, I’m back at the Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa later this week. These guys are…

Hotel Review: Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport

I recently found myself on an extra night layover in the Netherlands, and while I usually stay put at the Manhattan Hotel, Rotterdam, in this case, I decided to head to a hotel closer to the airport, since I had a very early morning flight to catch and I wasn’t sure if the railway service would be up and running at that hour. The choice boiled down to Hyatt Place since the Sheraton across the airport was quoting at 269 Euros that night, and that is expensive just to sleep a few hours. To get to Schipol Airport from Rotterdam Central, I used the train since the distances are large enough for a Euro 100 cab ride at least, and…

Resisting the urge for Hyatt Diamond Trial

I’m torn here and this is not a good feeling. Sometimes I feel the golden criteria for being a blogger based on BoardingArea should be that you have Hyatt’s Diamond status. And I haven’t had that for most of the 3 years I’ve been around. See, here are the key benefits of being a Hyatt Diamond: 30% point bonus when choosing points Best room available upon arrival, excluding suites Access to the Regency Club or Grand Club lounge featuring complimentary continental breakfast and evening hors d’oeuvres. Daily complimentary full breakfast in hotels without a club lounge. 4 Suite Upgrades annually on eligible paid nights (valid for 7 nights each) A welcome point bonus or food and beverage amenity during each…
