Vistara offering 2x Club Vistara points to try out Premium Economy

Vistara launched a new product in the Indian domestic aviation market, which is the Premium Economy cabin, and was never seen in Indian aviation before. However, initial feedback has not seen enough great reviews and the travellers have found it to be a glorified Economy Plus rather than Premium Economy. You can read my review of the inaugural flight here. To encourage more people to try out the Premium Economy offering, Vistara is now offering 2x points on Club Vistara to passengers who fly on Premium Economy between February 5, 2015 to March 5, 2015. Here is how Club Vistara earning and burning works. All Premium Economy flights across the network are eligible for the offer, and the promotional bonus…

Hyatt is out there pushing their business in India. They have done a couple of 50% off sales last year, and another promotion is now active to promote the Gold Passport program across the country. Here are the details of the promotion as per Hyatt. The offer code is valid for all the 21 Hyatt properties around India. Last month, when the promotion was announced, I was under the false impression that the application of this promocode would inflate the rates for the stay. However,…

IHG’s “Set Your Sights” promotion for Jan-Apr 2015 live

IHG is really the first one off the bat with their 2015 promotion, which is very similar to their customised promotions these days such as the Big Win. I gave a miss to their 2014 “Into the Nights” promotion as I focussed on getting my Hyatt Diamond status lined up for 2015. In hindsight, maybe it was good because IHG had problems executing the program at least in the period September – December 2014 with the Into the Nights promotion. Now, the next customized promotion is live for the first trimester of 2015, and it is called Set your Sights, and it is already live for registration. This time as well, everyone gets a promotion which is customized as per…

Etihad Guest offers 20% bonus on Amex & Citi points to miles conversion

Etihad Guest is the loyalty program of Etihad Airways, and I am trying to get a hang of it ever since they have been associated with Jet Airways. The thing is, Etihad is not such a great program on its own for mileage earning and burning, because the burn on Etihad’s own flights is dynamic and too darn expensive. However, Etihad Guest offers some hidden gems for those of us in India. Etihad, just like for all their Etihad partners, offers a redemption chart of Etihad Guest miles on Jet Airways as well. Here is the chart in PDF for Domestic and International Routes. This can be a pretty useful chart since you get to travel with lesser number of…

LifeMiles is the mileage program of Avianca, and they joined the Star Alliance in 2012. Ever since, they’ve been the avenue to buy low cost miles in the Star Alliance program, and get into premium cabins at a reasonable price. In one of my posts in December last year, I’d advised my readers to sign up for the program, because they frequently do promotions where you can get 100% bonus miles. Now, for the past few days, uptil May 30, 2014, they are back with a 100% bonus promotion, where you would be able to buy miles at 1.5 USD cents per piece (about INR 0.90) for a total of 75000 miles which you can purchase.
