Hyatt offering 3000 bonus points at 2 hotels in India

One of the two hotel currencies that are much wanted around the world are Hyatt Gold Passport Points, and for the lack of a co-branded credit card, they are pretty hard to earn in India.  Hyatt does take to the bonus route on new hotel openings, and at this moment they are offering bonuses of 3000 Gold Passport points at two of their latest Indian hotels. Firstly, there is the Hyatt Regency Ludhiana, which has recently opened and is offering 3000 bonus points for stays between March 1 and May 31 2014. The offer code for this is 3KGP and needs to be put on your reservation before you check-in. There is also the Hyatt Raipur, which has opened a…

And now, they are running another transfer bonus with their new partner Hilton HHonors. This time around, if you transfer 10,000 PremierMiles, which convert into 15,000 Hilton HHonors points (due to the 1PM=1.5 HHonors conversion rate), you get an added bonus of 5,000 HHonors points as well. Getting a free stay out of an IHG stay!

With my personal travel patterns, I don’t have much in way of loyalty to a particular hotel chain these days. Yet, I try and concentrate my stays between the IHG hotels, Starwood and Hilton HHonors due to applicable status benefits there, and also because I have reasonably large balances in these programs. Just this past weekend, I was in Vienna for about 36 hours, and I found a reasonably priced Holiday Inn property which was walking distance from the city centre. I decided to throw in the towel to participate in the IHG Big Win promotion, and this sounded like a good deal to participate and get some inroad into cracking my personal promotion. However, there was also more possible.…

100 Taj Inner Circle points bonus for booking Taj Hotels via website

I’m sure a lot of my readership travels and stays around India in the Taj Hotels. Taj Hotels run their own loyalty program for their hotel chains across the world (brands include Taj, Vivanta & Gateway). They offer 100 bonus TIC (Taj Inner Circle) points per continuous stay, if you book it via the websites of the Taj Hotels (www.tajhotels.com, www.vivantabytak.com or www.thegatewayhotels.com). Since Taj redemption stays start only 350 TIC points, a 100 TIC points seem to be very valuable, and if you redeem them for Taj Gift Certificates, they are worth INR 500 (or $8 approximately). Live From A Lounge is present on Facebook, Twitter & available via email, RSS.

8 days for Amex transfer bonuses to British Airways Avios / Etihad Guest miles

Beginning of the month I had alerted all of you regular readers about the promotions going on with American Express, where there is an offer to transfer Membership Rewards (their reward currency) for cards issued in India. There are two promotions: Transfer your Amex Membership Rewards to British Airways Avios, and you could earn a 30% bonus on these transfers. Amex MR transfer to Avios at the rate of 1.6 MR = 1 Avios, which translates, with this bonus, to 1.23 MR  = 1 Avios. While British Airways is one of the more expensive airlines due to their fuel surcharges to use Avios on, you could use them with so many of the oneworld airlines. Transfer your Amex MR to…

Citibank PremierMiles offers 30% transfer bonus on British Airways Avios & 20% on Etihad Guest miles

I don’t know if Citi is playing catch up with the American Express offer for 30% bonus miles on Avios transfers / Etihad Guest Miles or it is their own initiative, but they just got some new brownie points in my book. I’d been secretly wondering if there were ever going to be bonus offers on mileage transfers via Citi PM, but looks like Christmas did come early. For those of who look to redeem your miles for international travel, I find British Airways Avios to be an acceptable program over some other partners Citibank has for their card. Delta – bad availability,  Singapore Airlines – expensive (as compared to others), Etihad – very expensive redemptions. With BA’s distance based…
