
The Boeing 777X is going to take to the skies for the first time on January 23, 2020, establishing a series of test flights that will eventually help the plane get certification in the days ahead for a 2021 Entry into Service.

Boeing and Airbus, both competing for the airframe for the world’s longest flight, have turned in their bids for the equipment that can fly between London and Sydney. But there are interesting developments at both airframe makers, which may determine the fate of who will fly the longest flight eventually.
Boeing announced their second quarter results yesterday. Boeing expects the 737 MAX to come back in service by the end of this year, or otherwise, they will have to reduce production, or even shut down the line for a while perhaps. On the 777X, they expect the aircraft to have a delayed entry into service now due to engine issues.
