Lufthansa’s new Allegris product to fly between Munich and Bengaluru October 2024 onwards

Lufthansa’s Allegris is the new cabin product for the airline, which has been six years in the making. The Allegris Business Class product finally made it to an aircraft in May 2024, and the airline continues to wait for certification of the Allegris First Class product. From May 1, 2024, the first aircraft providing this new travel experience has been flying between Munich and Vancouver/Montreal. Additional aircraft will follow later in the year.

On the Allegris concept, there are plenty of different Business-class seats available. From a double bed to suites over extra long beds or extra privacy seats.

The business class cabins introduce five different seating variations. Lufthansa calls them:

  • Front-row Suites
  • Classic Seats
  • Privacy Seats
  • Extra Long Bed Seats
  • Extra Space Seats

All the seats have direct aisle access. The front-row business-plus Suites are the only ones though with doors. You can have a full look at the products here:

Lufthansa’s Allegris is coming to new routes in 2024

Since May, when the new aircraft entered service, Lufthansa has been operating the Allegris-equipped A350 aircraft between  Munich and Toronto/Vancouver. The next stop for the plane will be Chicago and Montreal, which will replace Toronto and Vancouver.

In August, Allegris will debut in Asia with flights from Munich to Shanghai, and flights to San Francisco will also be added. In October 2024, with the launch of the winter 2024 schedule, flights to Bengaluru and Cape Town will also get the new business class product.

In a nutshell, this will be the timetable to fly the Allegris product in 2024.

  • Munich – Vancouver: May through July 2024
  • Munich – Toronto: May through July 2024
  • Munich – Chicago: July 2024 onwards
  • Munich – Montreal: July 2024
  • Munich – Shanghai: August 2024 onwards
  • Munich – San Francisco: August 2024 onwards
  • Munich – Bengaluru: Late October 2024 onwards
  • Munich – Cape Town: Late October 2024 onwards

During the introductory phase of the rollout, Lufthansa says all seats will be made available free of charge. After that, however, you must pay an additional fee to select ‘additional comfort’ seats. Classic seats will remain free to select.

Remember, this announcement has been made, but the plane has not been updated on the open-for-sale seat map. So be aware of this when you make bookings.

Bottomline

Lufthansa’s Allegris-equipped aircraft will start flying on the Bengaluru – Munich and reverse route in October 2024, flying through the rest of 2024. The new business class product has five different seat variations, and you can pick as you like.
