Last Day: Buy Air India Flying Returns Points with a 30% Bonus

Air India’s Flying Returns programme has rolled out a new bonus, offering a flat 30% bonus on buying miles, and this is the first time there is a promotion from the house of Air India. Here are the details on how to buy Air India Flying Returns points with a bonus.

Through July 5, 2024, Flying Returns has rolled out a new promotion on buying miles. This promotion offers a 30% bonus on purchasing these miles. The bonus is flat and offered if you buy at least 100 miles. The bonus points are posted immediately.

There is no top end to this promotion, really, and you can buy as many Flying Returns points as you’d like. There is no capping on the bonuses as well. You can maximise the promotion by buying FR Points at INR 1.50 per point, but the post-bonus points price is INR 1.15 per FR Point, including the GST.

Which cards should you use to buy these miles?

These point purchases are processed directly by the airline and coded as travel purchases. The best cards to earn a bonus are Axis Atlas or Citi PremierMiles.

Things to know

Air India Flying Returns recently changed its award chart, including the addition of three different tiers of redemption for Economy Class. The pricing has gone down as a consequence. You can read the full lowdown on it here.

The top 3 Flying Returns members who purchase the highest number of points from the Air India website or call centre during the promotion period will receive the following offerings:

  • Voucher 1 Winner: 2-night, 3-day stay at Evolve Back, Coorg, Room Type: Lilly Pool Cottage
  • Voucher 2 Winner: 2-night, 3-day stay at Evolve Back, Kabini, Room Type: Safari Hut
  • Voucher 3 Winner: 2-night, 3-day stay at Evolve Back, Hampi, Room Type: Nivasa

Each voucher entitles one family, with a maximum of 4 people (2 adults and two children), to the specified accommodations. The voucher includes breakfast, dinner, and all taxes. You need to redeem the voucher by March 31, 2025 (blackout dates apply).

Flying Returns is offering a 30% bonus on purchased miles through July 5, 2024, one of the first deals you could avail yourself of on Flying Returns Points. The points can be used to book tickets on Air India and Star Alliance carriers.

  2. Flying returns offer poor redemtion options when compared to Vistara. Want to consume my leftover points before moving to Flting Returns, why would anyone buy Flying return points?
