Earlier this year, IHG Rewards Club launched a promotion offering bonus Rewards Club points on directly booked hotels. You could earn rewards up to 3 times, and get 30K points at the most, as a bonus for 3 reservations. You get 1,000 points just for registering for the promotion.
The promotion which was due to end on August 31, 2016 has now been extended up to December 31, 2016. All bookings need to be done via the IHG website or mobile site, and registration is required. Remember, the promotion is valid for InterContinental®, Crowne Plaza®, Hotel Indigo®, Holiday Inn®, Holiday Inn Express®, Staybridge Suites® and Candlewood Suites® hotels and resorts in Asia Pacific (excluding China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), the Middle East and Africa.
In addition to the bonus points, you can also get up to 35% off room rates on reservations made now until 15 September 2016, for stays up to 30 September 2016, at participating InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites hotels and resorts in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region. Just like last time IHG properties in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan are excluded from this promotion. You can access full details of the promotion here
Do bear in mind that booking needs to be done at least 7 days in advance and full payment is required for the stay at the reservation.
Bottomline
Since this promotion is open for all, it makes complete sense to register for it anyway and earn 1,000 points. If you have stays planned in the region through the year, you’ll get more points apart from the regular stay related points as well.

I notice while I am registered, Shipra is not being able to register. I am guessing this is a technical glitch to be fixed.
I got the same error message, and I also noticed an entry box for a PROMO CODE…
No go for me too. Says I am eligible but when I enter the “human verification” numbers it sends back a message that system is unavailable…again.
Nope. can’t register either. Although the URL says global offer, it may be targeted.
Somehow I am not able to register…
