India has never had an airshow of its own, but over the years, Wings India has been promoted as the airshow equivalent in India. The FICCI industry lobby is entrusted with organising the show, and it can turn out to be a hit or a miss, with some pretty bad instances of organisation in the past. We are closing in on the 2026 edition, and I’ve seen a good amount of interest in displaying aircraft, as everyone competes for a fix of Indian aviation, where airlines are shopping for new aircraft in the coming years.
What confirmed aircraft will be on display at Wings India 2026?
Air India
Air India will arrive at Wings India with its new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, registered VT-AWA, which will be unveiled at Wings India 2026 before entering commercial service on February 1, 2026.

Air India Express
Air India Express will arrive at Wings India with its first line-fit Boeing 737-8 aircraft, VT-RNT, which will showcase the new product on board, something that will be equipped across the Air India Express 737 MAX fleet of 51 aircraft.

IndiGo
While it is not confirmed, IndiGo is expected to bring its first A321XLR to the airshow. Some people in the know expect this, while I keep wondering why the airline would do this just a week into their launch of services to Greece with the aircraft.

Airbus
Airbus has lined up a comprehensive display of fixed-wing and rotary platforms that are redefining the future of Indian aviation. The company will also showcase an immersive helicopter simulator and its bouquet of aerospace services at Hyderabad’s Begumpet Airport from January 28 to 31, 2026.
On static display, visitors can get up close to the heavy hitters of the Airbus stable, including the A321neo, the A220, the H160 helicopter, which is redefining helicopter aviation in India, and the H125, which will now be assembled in India in Vemagal, Karnataka.
Embraer

Star Air’s E 175
Embraer will display two of its commercial aircraft, the E195-E2 and the E175, at Wings India 2026 in Hyderabad. Embraer’s participation in the event underscores the company’s commitment to advancing regional connectivity and sustainable aviation in the Indian market, presenting solutions tailored to address the country’s unique and expanding aviation needs. Both aircraft types provide airlines the right-sized capacity and strong flexibility to open new routes connecting secondary and tertiary cities. It is also expected that Adani Aerospace and Embraer will sign a dotted-line cooperation agreement for India at Wings 2026.
Besides this, it is expected that Sukhoi and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will bring the Sukhoi SJ-100 aircraft to India, in light of the recent cooperation between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) to produce the SJ-100 in India.
Bottomline
It is expected that the Wings India 2026 summit in Hyderabad this year will feature a vibrant flightline. The pseudo Airshow will be held next week, from January 28 to 31, 2026. Jets from Air India, Air India Express, Sukhoi, Star Air and Airbus are expected to participate.
