Like we mentioned during the beginning of this month, HDFC Bank renewed their 10x promotion with the Diners Club credit cards. However, in this edition, one major category went away, which was airline and hotel bookings which I presume is a large part of lifestyle spending for many of us. Luckily, HDFC Bank Smartbuy also had another way out.
It was pointed out by Anshul, one of our readers, that under a different offer, one could still get 10x points for using the Smartbuy portal of HDFC Bank. We already wrote about this promotion in July 2017, but recapping again.

You could earn 10X points for the following activities with HDFC SmartBuy here on:
- Flight Booking
- Hotel Booking
- Bus Tickets
- Movie Bookings
- Mobile & DTH
- Electricity Bills
- Gas Pay
- Charity
- Gifting
Again, this is just a short term measure, valid only through August 2017, but maybe one should use it now and make the most of it.
Have you had success with getting points for using the Smartbuy portal?
Alternatively, one could just purchase prepaid visa cash cards from amazon and use those anywhere to buy anything and get points.
Pradosh is right. Diners is no longer supported on Payzapp.
@Ajay – please add the following 2 conditions from offer details from Smartbuy website:
Link your cards to PayZapp -> Pay with PayZapp at HDFC Bank SmartBuy to get 10X Reward points or 5% cashback.
Reward points or cashback not applicable on load/send PayZapp transactions
Short point – 10X awards are only applicable if you pay via PayZapp through other HDFC Cards (only visa, master and rupay supported).
I have not seen Diners being supported on Payzapp ever. Did it work for you earlier?
I tried booking on Smartbuy. But it seems they have stopped accepting Diners as a payment option. Anybody else facing this as well?
Diners works if you are not logged in. You need to checkout as guest.
