Vistara did some great work designing their A321neo (along with the Long Range variant), a product that can fly up to 4,000 miles, and they did put flatbeds as well on these aircraft in the business class section and seat back inflight entertainment on all seats. You can read my review here.
These aircraft were primarily supposed to be flown on routes abroad, and over time, Vistara took delivery of ten of these aircraft. However, with Covid-19 and the associated reduction in services (and growth in domestic traffic), Vistara has been flying some of these A321s on domestic segments.
Vistara’s winter schedule deputes more A321neos/LRs on international routes.
With international travel back on track, Vistara is doing some equipment changes and some additional frequencies on their international routes:
- Delhi – Hong Kong – Delhi is being launched with the A321LR on October 29, 2023
- Delhi – Denpasar (Bali) – Delhi is being launched with the A321LR on December 1, 2023
- Delhi – Bangkok – Delhi (daily service) is being upgauged to the A321neo from the current A320neo, effective October 29, 2023
- Delhi – Kathmandu – Delhi will become twice Daily on November 1, 2023
Vistara will adjust Mumbai – London to Daily Frequency
While Vistara started with a 5-a-week service between Mumbai and London, it will work towards making it daily in the winter Schedule. From January 26 until March 30, 2024, there will be an increase from 5 to 7 weekly flights, with no operations on 08, 10, 11, and 13 February 2024. The airline will make it a four-times-a-week service from October 29, 2023, to January 25, 2024. This should be made possible with the imminent addition of one more 787-9 to Vistara’s fleet in the next few days.
As International traffic picks up, Vistara will send its A321 aircraft to more extended missions where they will hopefully make more revenue for the airline. Denpasar and Hong Kong will be two such missions launched, and more days will be added to Mauritius as well. The 787-9 operated flight to London Heathrow will also go daily sometime early next year with the addition of one more aircraft to Vistara’s 787 fleet.
What do you make of Vistara’s international plans with the 787-9s and the A321neos?
