Virgin Atlantic, the British airline now a member of the SkyTeam alliance and a competitor to British Airways, has released a new status-match promotion, which will be valid if you apply through February 14, 2024.

Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club is offering a status match to the elite members of 12 eligible airlines. Here are the airlines and the status that you would match.

To receive the status match, you must have a future revenue or redemption flight booked with Virgin Atlantic in Premium (Economy) or Upper Class to fly on Virgin Atlantic. The redemption bookings must be booked with Virgin Atlantic miles for travel on the airline. You should not have previously received a Flying Club Gold or Silver status through a status match.

British Airways Executive Club Elite Members to get a status bump.

British Airways Executive Club Elite Members will have it even better. Virgin Atlantic is trying to poach members, and for all the members who want to jump ship, Virgin Atlantic is offering an even higher tier for applications received through February 14, 2024.

You need to head to this link to apply for your status match. As per Virgin Atlantic, this is how they will match the status in

• Executive Club Gold and Silver: Flying Club Gold
• Executive Club Bronze: Flying Club Silver

Again, you need a live booking (Premium or Upper Class) to receive the status match. Virgin Atlantic will upgrade your status 72 hours before your qualifying flight. Since Flying Club has a rolling elite year, you will have a longer runway to requalify next year, contingent on your first flight on the airline. You must apply for this Status Bump by February 14, 2024, even though your flight could be later. Remember, if you cancel the flight, you also lose the status match, so this is not a promotion to be gamed.
