Two promos: Mumbai–Bangkok for INR 14K and Spicejet discounts

Jet Airways is offering a special fare on the Mumbai – Bangkok – Mumbai segment for those willing to book up 21 days in advance. Have a look at the all inclusive fare, which starts from INR 14K and goes upto INR 16K for booking 21 days to 7 days ahead. Considering Bangkok is a vacation destination for most, this should be doable, no?

In the past, Jet Airways used to outprice Thai Airways and Cathay Pacific on this route, in spite of the fact that their capacity was lesser (they fly a Boeing 737 compared to the A330/B777 configurations of Thai and Cathay). It seems they’ve now expressed intention to be in the game rather than out of the game. I tried pricing a BOM-BKK-BOM flight for 21 days out on Cathay, and it comes out on similar prices (I recently flew CX on BOM-BKK in Y!)

Here are the terms & conditions of this promotion from Jet Airways:

  • Tickets must be issued on or after September 13, 2012 and on or before October 15, 2012.
  • Travel must commence on or after September 13, 2012 and on or before December 31, 2012.
  • The entire journey must be confirmed.
  • Booking and ticketing must be done 21 or 14 or 07 days before departure.
  • The entire ticket is valid for 1 month from the date of commencement.
  • The above fares are valid only on 9W70 for Mumbai – Bangkok and 9W69 for Bangkok – Mumbai.
  • Date / Flight change – Not permitted.
  • Refund – Anytime at a charge of INR 5000.
  • Child and Infant discount is not permitted.

Over to the next discount: SpiceJet. While I gave away a SpiceJet discount code this past week for INR 1,000, apparently SpiceJet loves giving out discounts and they are upto it again. If you have a trip planned to be taken before the 10th of October 2012, and can book it on or before 30th September 2012, please use the coupon code SGSTA800. You will get a discount of Rs. 800 per segment on your reservation (about 1600 Rs. for a Roundtrip!). And it looks like it is stackable on top of the already existing discount you get on a roundtrip. So, more discounts if you’re flying this festive season.

Invalid request error occurred.

I will be giving away more SpiceJet discount codes this coming week. So watch out for that as well!
