A million miles is table stakes now a days for any airline which wants to generate a buzz and get a discussion going around themselves. After SAS did it successfully, and Etihad launched their version of the Amazing Race, now, it is Turkish Airline’s turn to take the bait and offer a million miles.
Turkish Airlines’ Fly Across Six Continents Earn 1 Million Miles Promotion
Turkish Airlines has today launched a new promotion, valid through October 27, 2025, whereby, when you book and fly across the six continents on a Turkish Airlines revenue ticket, with the Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles number already marked on your ticket, you become eligible to earn 1 Million Miles in the Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles programme.
The promotion is conceptually simple. The ticketing and travel period is between June 27 – October 27, 2025.
- Fly to all six continents on Turkish Airlines (the airline does fly to the most number of countries around the globe)
- Eligible flights must either originate from or transit through Turkey, but flights ending in Turkey don’t count for the promotion.
- The end point of the flight counts towards the destination continent. For instance,
- New York–Istanbul–Tokyo counts only as Asia.
- New York–Istanbul–Tokyo–Istanbul–New York counts as both Asia and North America.
- New York–Istanbul–Tokyo–Istanbul–Cape Town completes Asia and Africa.
- Award tickets, corporate rate tickets and group, staff, or special passenger segment tickets (e.g., seafarer, medical, student fares) don’t count towards the promotion. Tickets purchased with a promotional code are also excluded from the campaign.
- Miles will be credited between November 1–15, 2025, for Turkish Airlines customers who meet all the campaign requirements.
- Fifth Freedom flights don’t count. For example, direct flights like Singapore–Melbourne or São Paulo–Buenos Aires are not eligible.
- The campaign applies only to scheduled flights operated by Turkish Airlines. Codeshare flights are not eligible, even if booked with a Turkish Airlines flight number.
- Flights must be credited to the member’s Miles&Smiles account before travel. Retroactive mileage claims will not be accepted.
My take
The Miles&Smiles programme is a pale shadow of its former self, and in India, is facing a blockade from Air India as well. However, there are some great redemptions in the back pocket for the programme, such as Business Class around Asia for 35,000 points. The miles earned if you traveled all the eligible flights are valid through December 31, 2027, and if in business class, through December 31, 2030. So, if you have the energy and the access with your passport and the time, you might want to look at this promotion seriously.
Bottomline
Turkish Airlines is offering a new promotion, where everyone who flies with them on a revenue ticket to arrive on all six continents, will get a million miles credited to their account in November 2025. The miles are valid through December 31, 2027 at the minimum and if you do the six trips in Business Class, they are valid through December 2030.

I would pay someone with the same name as me to fly under my loyalty if the 1 million was guaranteed.
