Turkish Airlines introduces new “Crystal” Business Class

Turkish Airlines is one of the largest airlines globally in terms of its network and is also generally an excellent premium product. It is not over the top, but it is made acceptable because of the service that comes along. But this will change as the new business-class product comes to Turkish Airlines next year.

Turkish Airlines’ new Crystal business class

Turkish Airlines had hinted at its new business class at the Airlines Interior Expo in Hamburg. However, the full reveal came at the Farnborough International Airshow this week. The airline has branded the new cabin product as Crystal.

The new Crystal Business Class suite features seats with an adjustable door and privacy panel, an enhanced 23-inch width, increased footwell space and direct aisle access for all passengers, made possible by a 1-2-1 seat layout. This will be a big step up from the current 2-3-2 cabin arrangement. In the centre, there will be an inward and outward assortment of seats, including suites that will allow people travelling together to sit close to each other.

The suite features lighter and warmer colours in line with its ‘Flow’ brand identity, along with marble-style tables and rose gold finishes.

The airline has 33 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in its fleet and plans to retrofit all existing aircraft with these seats from 2025 onwards. When the 777s are reconfigured, the size of the business class cabin is expected to be reduced from 49 seats to 44 seats.

The cabin will also feature a 22″ high-definition entertainment monitor, wireless charging, and real marble trim. Turkish Airlines’ subsidiary, TCI Aircraft Interiors, has developed Seats with plush leather and fabrics sourced from Turkey to emphasise the Turkish flag carrier’s roots. The new seat is expected to be retrofitted on existing planes by 2025 and delivered on new planes by 2026.

Here is a video that Turkish Airlines put out to display the new product in action.

Turkish Airlines also intends to install the Crystal seat on the Airbus A350-1000s that will be delivered in 2026 and onwards as part of Turkish Airlines’ recent Airbus aircraft order.

Bottomline

Turkish Airlines has revealed its new Crystal business class product. As of 2025, the airline will retrofit the seats on its Boeing 777s and line-fit them on Airbus A350s, which will be delivered in 2026. The new product will be a 1-2-1 configuration, with direct aisle access and privacy doors at each seat.
