I am not sure if I am affected by this news or not, but this morning I was fixing up some travel reservations and I happened to hop over to the IHG website. I’m due to stay at the InterContinental Marine Drive later this month, because I managed to get a shot at the PointsBreak where it was going for 5000 points per night. At the bottom of my reservation page, here is the rate for Internet that comes up at $350 per night. Ouch! I think I should be glad that I still have some sort of status with the InterContinental chain to be able to get Internet free on a stay that would cost me $170 on a…

Review: Hotel Intercontinental Marine Drive, Mumbai
Last weekend was an overwhelming one, mostly for reasons that a strenuous travel schedule for this year was coming to an end, and it was the birthday of my partner and I’d decided to surprise her. I was just off a 9-hour flight less than 12 hours ago, and while I don’t get jetlagged, I was running on 2 hours of sleep. So, I thought checking into a hotel was going to be a better bet than staying home or going out, also to give vent to some of my own intentions, that I never get to stay in a hotel in Mumbai! Coming to the hotel, I missed the mark with catching the 7-day out rate, and got inside…

The promotion will have hotel stays booked for stays between 23 October to 22 November 2013 at 50% to 75% discount from their usual points price. Properties are spread out across China, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada, Germany, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, Mexico, UAE, Dominican Republic and the United States. Mostly Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza properties, but a couple of Intercontinental Hotels here and there as well, including Madrid, which I remember as the place I’ve had the best Eggs Benedict ever. It is nice to look up the properties and…
Getting a free stay out of an IHG stay!
With my personal travel patterns, I don’t have much in way of loyalty to a particular hotel chain these days. Yet, I try and concentrate my stays between the IHG hotels, Starwood and Hilton HHonors due to applicable status benefits there, and also because I have reasonably large balances in these programs. Just this past weekend, I was in Vienna for about 36 hours, and I found a reasonably priced Holiday Inn property which was walking distance from the city centre. I decided to throw in the towel to participate in the IHG Big Win promotion, and this sounded like a good deal to participate and get some inroad into cracking my personal promotion. However, there was also more possible.…
IHG Last Minute list out for September 2013
IHG has just put out their list of the last minute redemptions for September 2013, which are valid for redemptions on 6,7,8 September 2013 at 50% off their usual redemption rates. Here is the list of hotels this time around, mostly in the USA, but also sporadic ones in China, Canada, UK, Mexico, Finland, India & Spain. If I were travelling to Delhi this week, I’d definitely try and redeem to check out the Crowne Plaza Gurgaon which is only 15,000 IHG Priority Club points for this weekend. Which one are you headed to? Related Post: Participate in IHG’s Instagram sweepstakes for 1 million points Live From A Lounge is present on Facebook, Twitter & available via email, RSS.

Holiday Inn Manali for 5K IHG points
The current Priority Club IHG Rewards Club PointsBreak list is now out, and amongst the list is Holiday Inn Manali, which is going for 5000 Priority Club IHG Rewards Club points for redemption bookings made for stay upto 31 August 2013. This particular Holiday Inn is a resort property, and usually goes for 20,000 IHG Club Reward points/night, so compared to that, this redemption price is a steal. Now I know it is not the best weather to go to Manali, but in case you’re adventurous, this is for you! Live From A Lounge is present on Facebook, Twitter & available via email, RSS.
