Citibank is running a very lucrative promotion for new signups for the PremierMiles credit card. Like you know, Citibank offers 10 PremierMiles/100 INR for airline bookings via airline offices & websites (including premiermiles.co.in). For other transactions, it is 4 PremierMiles/100 INR. You also get 10,000 PremierMiles for your first transaction of Rs. 1000 or more within 60 days of acquiring the card. PremierMiles can be transferred 1:1 to various frequent flyer programs including Air India, Cathay Pacific, Etihad and Delta. I wanted to put out this post so that I could remind all of you of certain changes that are supposed to kick in as of January 1, 2014 for Citibank PremierMiles and ICICI Bank Jet Airways credit cards. Citibank PremierMiles had waived off the cap of INR 5,00,000 per annum on Airline tickets spend to earn Accelerated mileage (10 PremierMiles/INR 100 spend) last June as a special promotion. Reminder: 1 week to register for the Citibank “Double your miles” promotion
In the beginning of November, I had written about the Double your Miles Promotion that is available on Citibank PremierMiles credit cards issued in India. Under the current version of the promotion, the top 5,000 spenders for the period November 1, 2013 to January 31, 2014 would be eligible for double PremierMiles (upto 50,000 PremierMiles), which would be credited to their account by March 15, 2014. However, this is an ‘opt-in’ promotion, and hence you need to pre-register by 31 December 2013 to be able to take part in the promotion. My favourite travel credit card, Citibank PremierMiles, has recently worked on its conversion partner list, and added quite some new partners on the list over the past few weeks. The last major addition, to the best of my memory, was in June 2012, when Avios and Delta Skymiles were brought on board as conversion partners. Later than that, Etihad Guest was added to the list. Citibank has wanted to make this card the one-stop product for travel requirements in India. PremierMiles 50% extra miles bonus have posted
Citibank had offered a 50% bonus miles promotion for spends in August and September 2013. Under the terms & conditions, you would have received 50% bonus miles on all miles earned, i.e., if you earned 10 miles for booking flight tickets, you’d get another 5 miles for booking flight tickets under the promotion making it 15 miles. As a result, I ended up putting a lot of spend on this card, including sometimes booking Jet Airways tickets on this card as well. Citibank launched another cracker of a promotion this morning, and tied it in with the festival of Diwali. Citibank has done a 50% miles extra promotion a few months back, and this 2x miles promo last year where the top 2000 spenders got rewarded with 2x miles. Now, starting 1st November 2013 to January 31, 2014, you could be one of the top 5000 spenders with your Citibank PremierMiles Credit Card, and you get upto 50,000 bonus PremierMiles for this feat. Citibank’s PremierMiles travel credit card just launched a new promotion offering 50% more miles on all spends between August 1 and September 30, 2013. This means, for airline ticket bookings, you could earn 15 PremierMiles/ Rs. 100, and 6 PremierMiles/Rs. 100 for all other spends. Your bonus PremierMiles, which will be credited after the close of the campaign, are capped at 25,000 PremierMiles per card registered, which technically means, up to Rs. 12,50,000 in regular spend or Rs. 5,00,000 in Airline spend.
