I have to admit, writing about sales is not the favorite part of my life at Live From A Lounge because of the frequency these come with, but sometimes irresistible sales do come along and I make it a point to write about them. Right now, it being vacation season, it is lean for the airlines, and hence they are trying to pump up occupancy for the monsoon period with Sales.
Spicejet
First, Spicejet put out a sale yesterday offering domestic tickets INR 511 onwards and International tickets INR 2111 onwards. They also brought out massive newspaper advertisements to this effect.
SpiceJet is offering travel between June 15 and September 30, 2016 on these discounted tickets domestically, and June 1 to July 20, 2016 for their International offerings. You need to book by tomorrow May 19, 2016 to get these tickets. Of course, don’t expect INR 511 tickets on long routes, but on short 45 minute flights. For instance, I was able to find this flight to Ahmedabad from Mumbai with a headline price of INR 494:
You can buy via the Spicejet website/App, or also via the various OTAs such as Yatra, Cleartrip, Expedia, Musafir.
Indigo
Indigo is also offering tickets across their network domestically, and these start from INR 806 onwards, all inclusive. I’m not a big fan of Indigo, because I believe in getting more, but I did book a couple of short haul tickets since there is some travel planned and they fit my schedule pretty well. Again, sale ends tomorrow and travel is between July 4 and September 30, 2016.
Again, some great fares to be had, but I could not validate their own claims on the website with sample sectors. But I could book up a GOI-BOM ticket at INR 950 or so per pax, so I’d like to believe good deals are to be had.
Again, you can buy via the Indigo website/App, or also via the various OTAs such as Yatra, Cleartrip, Expedia, Musafir. I somehow did not even pay an online gateway fee booking via the app.
Bottomline
If you guys have some plans for later this year, makes sense to book your tickets now. Have a look and book up to destinations you’ve been planning to go to.
