Starwood’s new global promotion, valid for stays across Starwood hotels across the world, just opened up for registration. Called Triple Up, the promotion is valid for stays between May 9, 2016 to July 31, 2016.

The Promotion

Like the name indicates, the promotion offers up to 3 times the points on regular Starwood points earning, and is valid for stays of two or more nights. Here is how you earn:

• Triple Starpoints when you stay at a Sheraton hotel or resort (2 base points + 4 bonus points + your elite status extras)
• Double Starpoints when you stay at any other Starwood brand (2 base points + 2 bonus points + your elite status extras)
• 1,000 Starpoints extra for stays that include a weekend [Friday/Saturday night globally, Thursday/Friday night in Middle East]

You do need to register for this promotion, which you can do here. Registration is open from today onwards to July 17, 2016, and the promotion is valid from May 9, 2016 onwards to July 31, 2016.

Restrictions Apply

Starwood somehow does not seem to be able to convince all their properties to take on participation in their promotions. As usual, there is a list of participating properties, so, everyone who is not on this list, is not a participating property with respect to this promotion.

Bottomline

This is not the best Starwood has got, but it is sure better than getting nothing from them. I would advise registering for the promotion right away at this link, so that you don’t have to worry about registration later.
