Singapore has become one of the latest countries to bar Indians from entering the country or transiting Singapore, as the newest wave of CoVid-19 cases goes through India. Singapore has not been allowing Indian visitors for almost a year now. Still, those who worked in Singapore and were on some long-term visa/passes were being approved on a case-to-case basis to come back into Singapore so far, after serving a stringent “stay at home” notice where they would also get tested before being released into the country.
Singapore to bar those travelling from India from April 23, 2021, 2359 hours
Singapore’s Ministry of Health announced that all long-term pass holders and short-term visitors who have travelled to India within the last 14 days would no longer be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore. This move takes effect from 11.59 pm on Friday, April 23, 2021, and includes people who have prior approval to enter Singapore.
In addition, people who have recently travelled to India and have not completed their 14-day stay-home notice (SHN) by 11.59 pm on April 22, 2021, will have to complete an additional seven-day SHN at a dedicated facility rather than their place of residence.
Notice in this regard was put out by Singapore Airlines on their official website.
Bottomline
If you have an Indian passport and were scheduled to head to Singapore, you cannot enter anymore till further notice. So any plans, please check with your airline to reschedule.
