Earlier this week, we wrote about the record-breaking profit for Singapore Airlines and the group in 2022-23. Singapore Airlines has now advised staff about the bonus they will receive after this record-breaking year.
Singapore Airlines offers generous bonuses for all employees.
With Singapore Airlines recently announcing its best financial results ever, the company has also decided to reward the staff handsomely for a job well done. Singapore Airlines has announced that it will be paying a bonus to staff, equivalent to roughly eight months of salary. This will be granted to them in two parts:
- Singapore Airlines crew will receive a profit-sharing bonus equivalent to 6.65 months of salary. This profit share is based on a longstanding annual profit-sharing formula that unions have agreed upon.
- An ex gratia bonus, the equivalent of 1.5 months of salary, will also be provided to staff.
The second component will not be applicable to the airline’s senior management.
This is a very honourable way for the airline to recognise the efforts of their staff. Recently, Emirates did something similar, offering 24 weeks of pay to their staff as a bonus on the back of a record year as well.
Singapore Airlines had its best year in terms of profit this year on the back of the revival of travel demand post-Covid-19. To celebrate this, the company is paying bonuses to employees worth over eight months of salary, which includes a 6.65-month bonus for everyone and a 1.5-month salary ex gratia for everyone ex-senior-management. It is a great way to recognise the efforts of the employees to create and represent the SQ experience during good times and bad.
