The ongoing changes to Jet Airways FFP are just a small episode in the saga that has been playing out for a while. Over a period of time you must have found me singing praises of their service levels, but also the difficulties in getting benefits as a frequent flyer with Jet Airways.

Here are some of the issues faced in the past:

  • Non-availability on Jet Airways F for mileage redemption
  • Limited availability on Jet Airways J for mileage redemption
  • Upgrades don’t clear
  • Parity in redemption for Jet Airways and Jet Airways Konnect (the low-cost brand)

Except for the first issue, I can personally vouch for each of these issues to have happened to me. Considering I do not have the need to travel to London much, and 9W F is available only on LHR bound flights, and recently introduced on HKG bound flights, I never felt the need to try that out.

A fellow member on the FlyerTalk community took up the initiative to get together people and make a combined representation to the management of Jet Airways about the decline in the various aspects of being a 9W FFP member. For a program which was a front-runner as a continuously innovating program at a point of time not so long ago, it has not been able to service its members well over the past many months. You can read up about the missive to 9W here, and add your name (along with your membership number and tier) to the list if you please. You could send a message on the thread to the OP, or mail me and I will pass these on to the OP. But hurry, because the plan is to send this out to the management of the airline after the end of this month. Over 50 people have already signed up online, and about a 100 offline.

I think this program needs a little bit of sunshine from the House of Miles again! You could do your bit!
