Marriott’s ‘Save Now Stay Later’ promotion offers discounts and date changes across India/South Asia till June 2021

While it is not the best time to travel, it might be a good time to start looking for travel deals. Marriott has launched a new promotion called Stay Now Save Later, which has some excellent deals if you are ready to start travel bookings through the next year.

Marriott’s new promotion, which is valid for booking till June 30 July 15, 2020, and stays till June 30, 2021, is offering three options to choose from for stays at about 90 hotels from the Marriott stable in India and the rest of South Asia, including Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.

While the promotional price is non-refundable, it comes with breakfast included, and you earn Marriott Bonvoy points for the stays. However, there but with the ability to reschedule as much as required if plans don’t work for you.

I have to admit; there is a little bit of a gap between the lip and the cup in the third option. While Marriott’s website says a minimum of 30% discount, rate rules have been coded to show an up to 30% discount. Here is a screengrab from the site stating a minimum 30% discount.

Here are the Four Points by Sheraton Delhi Aerocity rates, where the regular price is INR 6,400++ per night, and the discounted rate is INR 4,999++ per night. It is is a 22% discount, not a minimum of 30% as advertised.

And when I pulled up the rate details of the promotion, it promised an up to 30% discount, which is different than the front page promising a minimum of 30% off.

I’ll continue to keep looking, but the big deal about this promotion then continues to be the fact that you can change the date after you book until June 2021 (subject to availability).

This is a good promotion to explore if you are getting some great deals at Marriott properties for the months ahead and you are bored with staying at home and planning to go out. The things to look out for, I’ve already listed for you. As hospitality re-starts, I believe this is the only big promotion from Marriott on Indian hotels, for the time being, so you will get this on offer when you try booking a room for through July 15, 2020, while your stay can be till June 2021.

What good deals are you chasing in the new Marriott Save Now Stay Later promotion?

  1. I’d say a good deal for Delhi-NCR users is a stay at The Westin Sohna, which is down to Rs 5,499 from its usual Rs 17,000/night. Could be a good breather for lockdown woes, obviously, 2-3 months down the line.
