One of the most talked-about airlines scheduled for a 2025 launch is RiyadhAir. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s newest airline has recently received its Operations Certificate and is now preparing for launch, except it has not received its aircraft from Boeing yet.
Riyadh Air’s cabin products unveiled
The ‘no legacy’ carrier, which is positioning itself as the world’s first digital-native airline, has revealed its first cabin layouts, which blend luxury and comfort to deliver a unique and market-changing premium experience. Innovative technology integrated into elegant designs will set a new comfort, convenience, and style standard. The airline will use colour and materials that reflect Saudi heritage, combined with a deep attention to detail, alongside unique technology and excellent amenities. Riyadh Air will ensure a consistent product throughout its Boeing 787 fleet. Riyadh Air’s Boeing 787-9 fleet configuration will accommodate 290 guests. Riyadh Air mentioned the signature theme of all cabins is a distinctive canopy twist design that evokes the elegance of traditional Arabic tents, which I couldn’t figure, even though I have stayed in some Arabic tents .
Riyadh Air’s Business Elite on the 787-9
Riyadh Air’s Business Elite (the front row of the business cabin) will sport four seats in a 1-2-1 fully flat-bed layout using the bespoke Safran Unity seat with a length of 78 inches and a width of 22.5 inches. All seats will feature 52-inch-high walls and sliding privacy doors, along with adjustable privacy dividers between centre seats. There will also be a 32-inch 4K OLED screen, one AC power outlet, one USB-C outlet, and two USB-C outlets. The centre seats will also be convertible into a double bed.

Riyadh Air’s regular business class, which will have 24 seats spread across six rows, looks even more gorgeous than the Business Elite cabin, at least in the pictures. Riyadh Air will use the Safran Unity platform, with each seat getting a 22-inch 4K OLED screen, instead of a 32-inch screen in the front row. There will be adjustable privacy dividers between the centre seats.

Riyadh Air’s Cabin Philosophy
The design philosophy blends intelligent design, ergonomic comfort, and thoughtful details. Curated lighting and a cohesive colour palette will create a cabin that feels inviting and luxurious. But the details tell the rest of the story. Mocha Gold and veined stone accents in premium cabins offer a subtle, elegant contrast to rich purple textures. A curated palette: dark indigo, mocha, iridescent tones, skyline blue, sunset peach, and lavender evokes a rich sophistication, seamlessly weaving the identity of the city of Riyadh into a modern expression of luxury felt throughout every cabin.

Free Onboard high-speed Wi-Fi
Besides all of this luxury, Riyadh Air loyalty members will enjoy Viasat’s seamless, free onboard streaming, social scrolling, web browsing, and gaming onboard, available from gate to gate (where permitted). Customers who sign up for the airline’s loyalty scheme will receive free Wi-Fi. Viasat’s network will enable Live TV on the aircraft’s seatback screens, providing various news and sports channels.
On the occasion of the unveiling of the cabin, Tony Douglas, Riyadh Air CEO, said,
Riyadh Air has always promised to deliver a world-class experience for our guests and the unveiling of our cabin interiors make this ambition a reality. The design, layout, and features of our new cabins are carefully crafted to ensure flights are as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. From the ergonomic and luxurious fabrics in the seats to the high-end technology used in the entertainment systems, every facet of the cabins has been chosen to deliver relaxing luxury.
Bottomline
Riyadh Air has unveiled the renders of their cabins for the Boeing 787-9s, which the airline expects to receive and launch service with later in 2025. The airline has gone for some of the best assortment of products from its vendors, and the colour scheme looks gorgeous and uniform. Not just that, there is also free Wi-Fi, and great IFE promised on board.

So the only difference b/w the business and business elite seats is the difference in screen sizes? (32 vs 22).
Also, Indigo lovers would be amused by seeing their favourite carrier’s “Business Class” is other’s premium economy 😛
I can only dream of AI’s 787 cabins having OLED in economy, that would be a game changer for this airline. Looking forward to flying this asap. When are they expected to start operations? Q4’25? 26?.
@Rutgers, typically, airlines that do not install a First Cabin are trying to make the first row of Business “special” because of the legroom available. As for IndiGo biz being others’ PE, that is the normal trend. Short-haul J (narrowbody) becomes widebody PE.
