Review: Plaza Premium Lounge Delhi Airport, Terminal 3

The Plaza Premium network currently operates eight airport lounges at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. These lounges are spread across departures and arrivals at Terminal 3 (Domestic & International) and in Terminal 1 and 2. Terminal 3 International Departures has 2 Plaza Premium lounges.  Lounge A is located adjacent to the ITC Green Lounge and is the smaller one in size. Lounge B is situated past the duty-free area and is larger of the two with more facilities. We were over to the Plaza Premium Lounge B Delhi Airport this time around.

Once we cleared immigration and security, the Allways crew assisting us walked us to the Plaza Premium Lounge B. After walking through the duty-free area, there was a right turn leading up to a lift lobby where an airport hotel and other lounges are located.

Although the reception was not manned at the moment of our arrival, our Allways VIP service agent checked us in and handed us the wifi scratch cards.

The agent then got us seated in the dining section of the lounge. The lounge is designed in an L-shape, where after the reception area, there is the forward section of the lounge which is lined up with many seats. Unlike Lounge A, which does fall short of seating space during busy hours, there was no shortage of seating in the forward section here. There were plenty of sofas, couches and chairs lining up the wall.

There was a flight information display screen at the entrance and a dedicated workspace which had a couple of computers and a printing facility.

A bar closet separated the dining section from the seating area.

Since it was breakfast hour, we headed straight to the dining section. This section had high chairs on the sides and tabled seating in the centre. There was also a large couch with a centre table, ideal for larger groups and families.

The buffet was a standard affair with fruits, cereals, sandwiches and juices. The hot buffet included sausages, baked beans and scrambled eggs. There was also a pile of french toast that looked quite unappetizing. For Indian items on the hot buffet, there were vegetable cutlets, idli and upma.

Apart from this, there was a separate egg station, just like all the other Plaza Premium Lounges across India. Ajay ordered the masala omelette, and it turned out very good.

There were Grant’s, Chivas Regal and Bacardi available in the wet bar. The wine selection had Indian wines including those from Sula and Grovers Vineyard. It was too early in the day for me to drink alcohol so instead, I grabbed some water from the refrigerator behind.

Around the corner, the side was a self-service hot beverage machine that brewed an espresso shot so strong that it woke me up instantly.

After breakfast, I tried to log into the internet and get some work done and thanks to the excellent speed I did not realise how an hour passed. However, the air conditioning in the dining area was not very useful, and after a while, it felt hot to be sitting there.

There was also a shower facility and a small spa room though there was no service staff there and I do not think it was functional at that hour in the morning. The shower and the spa services are pay and use facilities.

When we entered the lounge around 9 am it was relatively empty however it quickly filled up in the next hour and by the time we left the lounge at 10:30 am it was packed with people.

This lounge can be accessed through the Priority Pass and is also on the Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Diners Club International and RuPay network. You can also buy one-time lounge access for cheap using LoungeBuddy.  Since this is a contract lounge some airlines (Singapore Airlines, British Airways, Swiss, Turkish, Thai, United, Virgin and China Eastern) also use it for their passengers. A part of this is surprising since Singapore Airlines has its KrisFlyer lounge at Delhi Airport as well.

  1. Rabnoor in plaza premium terminal 2 was amazing .. No words how courteous he was when me and my family visited the lounge

  2. A very nice lounge in Delhi. Service provided is very good. Special thanks to the staff Miss Neelam, Miss Krishna, Miss Rupali, and Mr Roopesh.

  3. Left my earphone charger (small jewel box type) in the lounge in the early hours of 9th January while rushing for ANA flight to Tokyo. If you have it please respond. My wife will be travelling tomorrow and come to yopur lounge to pick it up. Please respond asap. Thanks.

  4. My wife and myself would be flying out of Delhi on 15th early morning Emirates flight. We will be arriving at the airport on 14th evening. I would like to have a lounge access from 9.30 pm on 14/7 till 2am of 15/7. Can anyone suggest how to get, cost and procedure !

  5. I felt this airport is only for 100% public street like model only stores stores and stores. No place to sit for transit passengers.. Very very less seats, I had to stay in airport for more than 8 hours for my flight and really frustrating . I have traveled from various airport and never seen such pain airport. will never go via Delhi Airport nor suggest anyone until my last breath, it’s really pain. To say in one sentence “Big spacious airport with less seats and pain Lounge”

  6. Plaza premium lounge at T2 for domestic departure is better. it is sad but truth the food options are way more there.T3 despite being an international departure lacks in professionalism, food variety and courtesy.those spa chairs are not functional 24×7 i am saying because in past 3 years we have had both morning and evening departures.
At T2 we get south indian counter with an egg counter apart from main course and salad which are part of the buffet inside.
Living in DEL we feel more exited about visiting plaza premium at T2 over T3 anyday.

  7. Plaza premium at domestic 3 is very bad over crowded and reception staff behaviour is very bad, may be because of monopoly.

  8. I always tend to visit this particular lounge , even if my airline offers the ITC Green Lounge ( which is an overcrowded mess ). And yes , this is definitely much better & private than Lounge A. But , nothing beats the GVK lounge experience in Mumbai.
