In 2015, Taj InnerCircle (TIC) announced a revamp to its loyalty program and christened it as reborn. A key drawback of this revamp is that all the points earned before June 15,2015 will expire 15th June 2017. So, if you’re sitting on a stash of Taj InnerCircle points gems, your countdown to burn your points starts now!
Here are the ways in which you can redeem your InnerCircle points :
Room stays at Taj hotels worldwide. Reward rooms will be available across all room categories including suites and no black out dates will apply. Bear in mind that the reward points are dynamic in nature and change based upon your time of travel. I quickly checked and presently the lowest redemption starts at 821 TIC points at the Taj Gateway hotel in Agra.
Buy gift cards that can be used for stays, dining and spa treatments. You can purchase gift cards in values of INR 1000 value for 400 TIC points. You can redeem your points to buy merchandise online. If nothing else you also choose to donate your leftover points and pick from a selection of four charities.
In case you are falling short of points there is also a Points + Cash option available. You need to have a minimum of 50% of total redemption points to use to avail Points + Cash. The cash equivalent can be paid directly on the InnerCircle reservation link at the rate of INR 5 for every point when making your booking. TIC allows a maximum purchase of 5,000 points every year.
Taj has proactively sent out emails to members with a reminder of their points expiring and details on how to redeem them. Ajay has about 140 points in his TIC account that we are yet to figure out how to use before they expire.
