A couple of questions: as an Indian passport folder will immigration in india allow for me to go to Sri Lanka and from there to the US? And secondly, we as Indian passport holders are required to obtain an ‘electronic visa’ ($15) before heading to Sri Lanka – in that case do we need do spend a night in Colombo (both ways) or could we simply enter and leave Colombo in a matter of hours?

@Tar_00 Immigration in India does not need to know about your flight ahead to the USA. You can just let them know about your flight to Colombo, which should be fine. As for leaving Colombo, you can leave as little as 30 minutes I guess. no one is asking!
