Qantas Points Transfer Bonus 2019: Up to 40% bonus points

Qantas is offering up to 40% bonus points when you transfer from your credit or charge cards to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program between today and April 14, 2019 (Australia Time).

This new promotion is not exclusive to any credit card company, but rather is being offered by Qantas themselves (they are footing the bill on the 40% bonus).

The airline has offered the following bonuses, depending on the number of points transferred in:

  • 15% bonus points when you transfer in up to 500,000 Qantas Points
  • 25% bonus points on the transfer of 500,001 to 1999,999 Qantas Points
  • 40% bonus points on the transfer of 2,000,000 Qantas points and above

Now, this promotion, at least for my Indian audience, only works for the Citi Credit Cards: Citi Prestige, which gets you 4 Qantas Points per 1 Citi Prestige Point. Also, you get 2 PremierMiles = 1 Qantas Point. Remember, Qantas is a oneworld partner, so, even though Qantas does not fly to India, you can still use the points in your Qantas account to fly other oneworld airlines.

The offer seems targetted since the offer email mentions it is available to the recipient of the email, so check your mailbox to see if you got this or not. Further, the transfer of credit or charge card reward points to Qantas Points has to be completed between 12:01 am (AEDT) April 1 and 11:59 pm (AEDT) April 14, 2019.

Bonus Qantas Points will be rounded up to the nearest whole Qantas Point, and will be posted up to 15 days after the offer has closed with the description ‘Card Transfer Bonus’.

Bottomline

This promotion, if available to you, is a good one, given Qantas points can be used for flights on other carriers such as Emirates and oneworld carriers as well. So, any bonuses are welcome, even if it is a 15% bonus, as Qantas does not send out this kind of promotions often.

Have you been targetted for the new Qantas promotion? What do you plan to do with the new Qantas Points Transfer Bonus 2019?
