Promo: Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer offering up to 5,000 bonus miles per segment for flights on SQ

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer loyalty programme has entered its 25th year, and the airline’s loyalty programme has announced a new promotion to encourage people to travel with the airline and make forward bookings.

KrisFlyer offering up to 5,000 bonus miles per segment.

Singapore Airlines is offering a 50% Bonus KrisFlyer Miles when you fly on a revenue booking with Singapore Airlines to anywhere in the world on any revenue fare class. They only ask you to book your ticket directly on the website or app of Singapore Airlines by February 10, 2024, and travel between July 1 and November 30, 2024.

The bonus is capped at 5,000 bonus miles per segment, though, and will only be offered if you choose to credit the flights to KrisFlyer.

The following fare classes are eligible.

Does it make sense to make the bookings?

Yes and no. SQ is known to have some very good prices when tickets are booked far out, and this should be no different. Singapore Airlines, for reference, offers the following credit of miles on tickets booked:

  • Economy
    • Lite and Value Fare Families (50% of Distance Flown): RBDs K, N,Q, V, G
    • Standard Fare Family (75% of Distance Flown): RBDs H, M, W
    • Flexi Fare Family (100% of Distance Flown): RBDs B, E, Y
  • Premium Economy
    • Lite and Standard Fare Families (100% of Distance Flown): RBDs R, L, P
    • Flexi Fare Family (125% of Distance Flown): RBDs S, T
  • Business Class
    • Lite and Standard Fare Families (125% of Distance Flown): RBDs D, U
    • Flexi Fare Family (150% of Distance Flown): RBDs C, J, Z
  • First Class: 200% of Distance Flown on RBDs A, F

Also, Gold Tier Members get a 25% Bonus on crediting their flights. So, even an Economy lite fare would get 75% of the distance flown now instead of the usual 50%. Business Class travellers get between 187% and 225% of the miles on distance flown. The full T&Cs of the promotion are here.

However, the promotion is short-lived for celebrating 25 years of the airline, and they could have done more on that aspect. But I hope more celebrations are in the works.

Bottomline

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer loyalty programme is celebrating its 25th year, and to celebrate the occasion, the airline and the programme are offering a 50% bonus on tickets booked by February 10, 2024 (directly with the airline’s app and website), and for travel between July and November 2024. The capping is at 5,000 miles per segment, so that is a generous topping of miles if you’d book now to fly later in the year.

What do you think of Singapore Airlines’ new promotion to offer 50% bonus miles on all flights?
