Now, you can order a cake on board your next Indigo flight

I’ve always been a fan of the quirk factor of Indigo, however I don’t travel them much since I don’t get a cut of some sort from them (read a loyalty program). But other people I know don’t have any hangups flying Indigo, and that keeps me busy with their website at least.

Which brings me to last night’s chance discovery. I had booked some tickets on Indigo, and I was doing seat assignments via the manage booking section on the website. One of the new features I could notice was the ability to send cake for someone on the flight.

Basically, you will be able to add a 1/2 kg chocolate brownie cake, which can be delivered to your seat on board. The website does not have much of a mention of it apart from the manage booking section, so I am not sure if this comes up on the boarding pass of the passenger whose name it is booked in, or just directly turns up on the seat! 😉

Also, to me it looks this is plain chocolate cake, and I am not sure if there are toppings along and the ability to make customised messages on the cake. Important questions I would love an answer to, but I’d add it to a flight anyways to see how this works.

  4. We had an Indicake delivered to us on a flight from Delhi to Dehradun in January. It was a half kilo chocolate cake and not bad tasting at all. We had fun sharing it around with the other passengers.

  11. yes, you can order the cake in indigo, you can call to customer care… but it should be order 48 hours before the departure time…
