As travel picked up again, Marriott was missing from the scene. They made good by launching a promotion in the last trimester of the year, offering points on stays between September and December 2022. That promotion ended on December 15, 2022, though.
Marriott’s new Targeted Promotion rolled out.
Marriott has unveiled a new promotion, albeit in a targetted fashion for different accounts. You should be able to see the promotion in your Promotion Central to see if you received the promotion. If you are targeted, you will see the promotion once you log into the Marriott website.
For instance, the promotion I received offers double points on all (paid) stays that include a Friday or Saturday night. Marriott says the earning period starts the day after the member registers and continues through the end of the month, plus an additional three months, which means if you got the same promotion as me, you are good through March 2023 to earn double points on your weekend stays.
A stay is defined as one or more consecutive nights at the same hotel on any Points-eligible rate. Award redemption nights, including Points redemption, Cash + Points, or Free Night Awards redemption, are not eligible for the Promotion. So that you know, stays completed before Promotion registration does not qualify for this offer.
There is no limit to the number of bonus points members can earn during the promotional period. You can book your stay at any points-earning rate. Remember, you can always book your stay with a luxury travel advisor for Marriott STARS/Luminous Rates, such as Classic Travel which has access to rates where you can get perks such as complimentary breakfast, a free major meal or USD 100 property credit, upgrades, and late check-out without status. Only one room per property is counted toward a member’s stay for the promotion.
Another promotion I’ve heard some folks have received is double points on a minimum two-night stay until the end of February 2023, with no weekend stipulation.
