Lufthansa, which is in the process of upping their operations out of Munich airport from 2020 onwards, has last week announced that they will be adding seven new long-haul routes out of Germany in the summer schedule of 2020.

The focus is on North American destinations – as of next summer, Lufthansa will be expanding its services to include Las Vegas, Phoenix, Anchorage, Seattle, Orlando, Detroit. In addition, Lufthansa Munich to Bangalore flights will be added to the timetable in 2020.

As of 31 March 2020, Lufthansa will fly to Bangalore five times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The flight will take off in Munich at 11:55 a.m. and land at 0:05 a.m. local time the following day. The return flight to Germany departs at 1:45 a.m. local time, arriving in Munich at 7:30 a.m, and will be operated by the Airbus A350-900.The airline already operates a daily flight between Frankfurt and Bangalore, currently using the Boeing 747-8i.

The new Lufthansa service will have 48 lie-flat beds in Business Class but not everyone gets aisle access. Plus, there are 21 seats in Premium Economy and 224 Economy Class seats on this aircraft.

The Munich to Bangalore flight addition should be a nice one to the operations of Lufthansa, which is reeling from the loss of the narrowbody service it used to operate to Pune, which eventually went away. Lufthansa will also be moving another A380 service, from/to Delhi to the 747 in 2020 as well.

After Mumbai and Delhi, Bangalore is the hotbed of action getting flights from Lufthansa, as well as the JAL flight to Tokyo in 2020 as well. Bangalore would do well to get even more connectivity in the coming days to international airports.
