Lufthansa’s Allegris is the airline’s new cabin product, which has been in the making for six years. The Allegris Business Class product finally made it to an aircraft in May 2024, and the airline recently received certification for the Allegris First Class product.
On the Allegris concept, plenty of business-class seats are available, from double beds to suites with extra long beds or extra privacy seats.
The business class cabins introduce five different seating variations. Lufthansa calls them:
- Front-row Suites
- Classic Seats
- Privacy Seats
- Extra Long Bed Seats
- Extra Space Seats
All the seats have direct aisle access. The front-row business plus Suites are the only ones with doors. You can have a full look at the products here:
Lufthansa’s Allegris First Class, the flagship of the new cabin on long-haul routes, will take off on a scheduled flight for the first time. Two individual suites and the globally unique Suite Plus in the A350-900 will operate on the flights to the Indian sub-continent first.
In the First Class Suite, guests can heat or cool their almost one-meter-wide seats according to their needs. The separate suites with ceiling-high walls and lockable doors, large tables and wide seats, a vast screen and wireless over-ear headphones set new standards in comfort and individuality in the highest class.
A personal wardrobe in the suite provides ample storage space so that travellers can change comfortably and have all their items to hand. Individual lamps allow travellers to create their very own feel-good atmosphere. The Suite Plus also combines maximum comfort for individual guests with the unique option of travelling together with a travel partner in a suite.
Lufthansa’s Allegris is coming to new routes in 2024
Since the new aircraft entered service in May, Lufthansa has operated the Allegris-equipped A350 aircraft between Munich and Toronto/Vancouver. Currently, the following operations are done with the Allegris-equipped A350s.
- Munich – Chicago and v.v. on LH436/437
- Munich – Shanghai and v.v. on LH726/727
- Munich – San Francisco and v.v. on LH458/459
- Munich – Vancouver and v.v. on LH476/477
Earlier in the year, Lufthansa committed to Bengaluru receiving the new business-class product in October 2024. They are all set for the new product to fly regularly to Bengaluru but with a slight delay. And in a surprise turn of events, they also send along the Allegris to Mumbai twice a week.
The first destinations for the Allegris-First Class Suite and Allegris Business Class will be Bangalore on November 9 and Mumbai on November 15, which will then be served alternately with the new First Class. After a technical introduction phase, Lufthansa will initially present the latest product to its most loyal guests by invitation. As soon as more aircraft with the new First Class are part of the fleet, targeted upgrades by passengers and later targeted bookings will be possible step by step.
In a new update, the Allegris cabin has also been slotted to operate from Munich to Mumbai twice a week, on Monday and Friday (and similarly, Mumbai to Munich will operate on Tuesday and Saturday). The rotation to Mumbai starts on November 15, 2024.
How do you know it is the new seat? Lufthansa tells you. Note the “Allegris: New seat concept” tag in the booking engine. This won’t be a debut since Lufthansa has already flown Allegris to Bengaluru at least once, if not more than once.
Bottomline
Lufthansa’s Allegris-equipped aircraft will start flying on the Munich-Bengaluru/Mumbai and reverse route effective November 9, 2024, flying through the rest of 2024. The new business class product has five seat variations; you can pick as you like. The First Class Suite will also be on this aircraft, although you can’t buy it, and Lufthansa will perhaps hand it out to their top-tier members by invitation.
What do you make of the Allegris-equipped A350 aircraft flying to Bengaluru / Mumbai with Lufthansa?
