Jet Airways moving Mumbai operations to Terminal 2 in March 2016

Mumbai’s Terminal 2 has been getting ready to host more and more airlines recently. When they launched the new terminal in 2014, all international flights were supposed to depart from this terminal, as it was built adjacent to the crumbling bus corridor of a terminal that the earlier Terminal 2 had become. However, the plans were to always make it an integrated terminal. Vistara on its launch last year, became the first airline to start doing domestic flights from Terminal 2, apart from Air India’s connectors on international flights.

Late last year, Air India also commenced their operations from Terminal 2, and now it is Jet Airways’ turn to move their domestic operations to Terminal 2.

The transition will begin with the departure of 9W 284, which is a domestic flight between Mumbai and Kolkata, which will depart at 02:25 AM. The first flight to arrive will also be from Kolkata, 9W 628 which will come in at 00:10 AM. This will mean that Jet Airways passengers will now be able to transfer from domestic to international flights within 75 minutes as compared to 105 minutes earlier, and international to domestic connections will take 90 minutes instead of 120 minutes earlier.

As a reminder, Mumbai also got a new lounge on Level 3 for domestic passengers, but I am not sure if this is the lounge Jet Airways elites will be sent to.

Readers, take note. All Jet Airways arrivals and departures from March 15, 2016 will be from Terminal 2.
