For those of us who use their iPhones all the time, they are a godsend. For me on the road, I’ve always preferred to use my iPhone over my office-issued Samsung Galaxy. Sadly, my iPhone is old enough to warrant an upgrade now. And I noticed there are some great promotions to book up the new iPhone, which I thought I’d put out.
First, why the new iPhone? Same reasons as earlier years, best-in-class cameras, great picture quality, and finally upgraded charging via wireless. Water resistance is another thing I missed to add.
Now, Android campers are eligible to their views, but this is about my love for Apple, so shall we keep the Android already had these features for another time?
So, I woke up this morning to check out the new phones and they will be available in India as of 29 September. However, pre-booking has already started and there are some cool promotions around it. Preordered iPhones are going to be delivered by September 30, 2017.
The sticker price of the iPhone 8 is as follows in India:
- iPhone 8 64 GB : INR 64,000
- iPhone 8 256 GB : INR 77,000
- iPhone 8 Plus 64 GB: INR 73,000
- iPhone 8 Plus 256 GB: INR 86,000
However, there are enough opportunities to already reduce the price of the new phone. First and foremost, Flipkart is offering a great cashback of INR 10,000 with Citibank Credit & Debit Cards. The cashback comes to you by December 2017 but essentially shaves off INR 10,000 from the cost of your new phone. The promotion is valid through September 29, 2017.
Next, if you want to trade your old phones, you are getting massive discounts at this time on trading those in. And there are trade-in discounts up to INR 23,000. I am getting INR 10,000 back for a 3-year used iPhone 6 on me. But I saw a lot of phones which were being discounted all the way to INR 23,000.
And last but not the least, why pay in full when you could split your purchases. The iPhone 8 series is coming with lots of no-cost EMIs from the following banks, and you can break your EMI all the way to 12 months.

Axis Bank

Bajaj Finserv

In Job’s trademark fashion, there is one more thing. Flipkart is offering to buy back the phone with an assured value if you are looking to trade up next year. For instance, have a look here where you get 30000 back if you trade the phone out next year.
Bottomline
Gone are the days when one needed to wait a few months for the price of the phone to become more affordable. Also, you don’t need to wait in long queues since you just get the phone home delivered.
Are you buying the next iPhone then?
Hey Ajay, checkout the Amazon Reliance Jio offer on iPhone 8, I bet that’s the best offer EVER. 10k cashback on Citi + buy back at 70% value next year (they will issue Reliance digital vouchers of same value)
@Aman you have to use Jio on the phone or at least pay for Jio every month. So not useful for most of us who won’t want to stick to Jio.
Any catch in Citi cash back?
@Rajat not at all.
No. too expensive for a substandard phone. pure marketing gimmick
