Introducing AirportLounges.in

One of the fun parts of running this blog is to meet a lot of people and help others travel better. I’ve met some of you in airport lounges. Airport lounges are the perfect place to sit back and relax for me, when I am about to take off on a vacation. On other days, the same lounges, along with their wifi or snacks, have helped me get that one essential email out of the door before I got on a plane, or given me enough food not to starve on a flight. We love them so much that we are always Live from a lounge.

When people get used to lounge access, there is no going back. There are examples in my home and outside to this effect. My wife, when we first met, was not used to the concept of airport lounges. She would rather walk around the terminal. And now, when we are taking off from Mumbai, we love to swing by the Terminal 2 GVK Lounges (International F, International J or Domestic). My family, equipped with their Priority Passes, would also swing by a lounge before a flight if they have the time. There are more instances than I can remember.

One of the biggest search queries we receive all the time is about airport lounge access. This is also a common reader question. So, we figured we’d make a one stop resource for you to be able to access all the lounges across India, along with the methods to do so for free. To this effect, let me bring to you AirportLounges.in. While you can always directly type away to this website, you can also access the link from our links section on the website sidebar whenever you want.

The microsite provides you with various lounges which have tie-ups with various credit card networks, or with airlines in India, and also which lounges can you access using your status on international alliances. We scoured all the relevant websites, and put as much information available with us and in public domain in one place for your reference. We are also working on creating reviews for as many lounges as possible, and have currently linked all the ones already reviewed on this blog into the table itself.

So, the next time you are taking a flight, type away at airportlounges.in, and find out what’s your closest pitstop before your flight. And don’t forget to spread the word!

  1. Hi
i just started on Airport lounge, when last week i spent almost full night at Plaza lounge at T3. it was an OK experience, nothing world shattering.
now the funniest part is that i used my AI SBI Signature card for the free access to plaza lounge, where i was charged just INR 2.0
before that, i just walked to Air India Gold Lounge, but I was declined an entry as I was not a gold member (I am silver member); else they would charge INR 500.00/2 hrs of lounge access. but Premium plaza allowed me full night access on the same card without any charge.
Now, I am thinking to take a card just for lounge access and I found HDFC Diners to be best in this case. I am not eligible for a free HDFC Black Diners card, but I am getting HDFC Regalia and Diners Premium card. Premium allows 25 free domestic lounge access and 5 international.
can you advise is it good to go for this card or is there any better opportunity?

    Thanks
    Santosh

  2. Brilliant concept Ajay. Most of us discovered your blog while searching for lounge access at Indian airports. It’s great to finally see a website dedicated to this. Thanks for the initiative.
