IHG Rewards Club has just released the details of their next Point Breaks promotion, which is one of the best hotel points deal around.
PointBreaks is by far one of the most sought after promotions for reward stays. Every quarter, IHG Rewards Club releases hotels under this promotion. These are hotels which can be booked for just 5,000 IHG points per night for the duration of the promotional period. IHG Rewards redemptions usually starts at 10,000 points and goes all the way up to 60,000 points per night. There are a 100 plus hotels participating in this round of PointBreaks and these become bookable on Monday/ January 30, 2017 for up to stays through April 30,2017.
Like always most of the hotels featuring in the PointBreaks are Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza. This round has 2 Intercontinental brands on the list namely;
As for India there are just 2 hotels participating :
- Holiday Inn Amritsar Ranjit Avenue : A hotel that is usually priced around INR 4,200 per night and where reward nights can be redeemed for 15,000 points per night. Even though, I’d prefer to book this hotel at cash rate redeeming a night for 5k points is not a bad idea as it gives a value of INR 1 per reward point, inclusive of taxes.
- Holiday Inn Express Chennai Old Mahabalipuram Road : This hotel sells at a cash rate of approximately INR 3,000 and reward nights start from 20,000 IHG Rewards Club points per night.
Here are all the hotels participating in the Australasia region. You can view the entire list here .
Apart from these, there are quite a few city hotels across beautiful European cities like Prague, Italy, Poland and Macedonia and it’s always a good idea to see if you can spot a good deal around.
Are you planning to book any hotel in this round of PointBreaks ?
So if I buy 15000 points for US$ 90 (INR 6200 approx), I can book 3 nights, which is effectively a discount of 50 – 70% in many cases. Please correct me if I am wrong.
@Pankaj there is also a 75% bonus going on I believe right now.
Sir, its 5K or 15K points? In screenshot it shows 15K. Please explain in case I misunderstood. Thank you
Got it hahaha.. Overlooked.
Might be a bet worth taking. Points break rooms availability can be an issue at times.
If you don’t mind keeping the points for later, just in case, then it’s a good deal.
