HDFC Credit Card insurance payment offers double reward points

HDFC Bank has been adding a lot of promotional offers for their card users over time in India. It seems they also fired the first shots in offering more points to their users this quarter before American Express came back with a 10X offer of sorts. Here are all the details of the HDFC Credit Card insurance payment offers for the quarter of January to March 2019.

To promote their reach in the insurance segment, there is a new HDFC Bank Credit Cards offer, offering bonus Rewards Points for paying Insurance expenses on their proprietary Credit Cards and between January 1, 2019, and March 31, 2019. The offer is valid for all online and offline insurance payments, and the best part is valid for all customers. The maximum cap on the bonus Reward points is 5000, and the bonus will be credited before June 30, 2019.

For instance, let’s say you earn on your Regalia Credit Card for insurance payments. Each INR 150 spend gets you four reward points, and you get a maximum of 2000 Reward points per insurance transaction. That means the maximum per transaction spend you can make for insurance payments would be INR 75,000 for Regalia, and the overall spend would be INR 187,500.

The offer applies to retail transactions which are done between January 1, 2019, and March 31, 2019, and is not valid of EMI or SmartPay transactions.

Bottomline

It is fantastic when you can earn miles for stuff that you are already going to have to do, such as paying insurance. But when you are going to get double points to do that, it is all the more reason to do so with your credit card.

Which HDFC Bank Credit Card are you going to use this quarter to pay for your insurance?
