HDFC Bank has not renewed 10X Partnerships for the Diners Club Cards?

We have written extensively about the HDFC 10x points. HDFC Bank Diners Club 10X Rewards were my favourite reward currency primarily due to some offbeat transfer partners they provided in India. The transfer partner list went away in 2016, but still, I look at it as a 16-33% cash back card, with all the cashback going towards travel, at least in my case.

The list of 10X partners frequently gets updated. The focus has been on travel & e-commerce. 10X rewards were changed during the pandemic, with the HDFC Bank Diners Club 10X being removed altogether on Partner brands for the HDFC Bank Diners Club range of credit cards. However, HDFC Bank Diners 10X on Partner Brands returned in October 2020 and consistently offered until December 2021.

Now, it seems that HDFC Bank has discontinued 10X partners for the Diners Club cards again. This shows up on the HDFC Bank website when I went over to browse for the latest list.

It could be that HDFC Bank might be still tying up their partnerships for the 10X programme for the year, or it could just mean that the bank has not found anyone interested in the 10X partnership proposition as of now, and the programme returns later in the year.

However, the bank still has the Smartbuy programme ongoing for up to 10X rewards, which allows for bonus points on shopping for flight tickets, Amazon and Flipkart shopping, amongst other things, via the Smartbuy portal for the Diners Club Black Credit Cards with 9X rewards capped to 7500 in a calendar month.

Bottomline

HDFC Bank Credit Cards seems to have discontinued the 10X rewards partnerships for the Diners Club Black Card for the time being. It might come back sometime soon, or not. However, HDFC Bank Diners Club Black can earn up to 7500 points per month by shopping via the Smartbuy portal.

What do you think about the 10X partnerships not being renewed by HDFC Bank Diners Club for the black card?

  1. If I spend approx 2-2.5 lakh in a year for dining, utility bills, insurance and online spends, is this card recommended. Ready to spend the fee if I can get better benefits of it.

  2. Ajay i have an option to switch to infinia as bank has agreed to the same. After using black for so many years and a kind of affection towards the card :)- is it worth to switch to infinia or differences are less

    • @Maninder, I guess the time to switch is now. More cap on 10X Smartbuy, and good riddance from the 10X partners programme which are anyways a lucky dip now a days.

  3. With diners 10x partnership going away, would it make sense to switch to Infinia ? We atleast get 15K cap from smartbuy portal for Infinia.
