The Shangri-La hotel chain’s, Golden Circle just turned 8. And to celebrate the program’s 8th anniversary, there is a new Golden Circle bonus points promotion.

You start off by registering for this promotion online. Once that’s done, you earn double GC Award Points on dining, spas and stays through January 18, 2019. Make sure you register and book your stays before November 18, 2018. You can read the rest of the terms and conditions here.

Additionally, there are extra points to grab if you do the following:

•    Earn 350 points when staying 2 different hotel brands
•    Get 500 points when staying 5 nights or above
•    Earn 888 points when staying 3 different hotels worldwide

What will these points get you? Shangri-La award night redemptions start from 1000 points a night and go all the way to 35,000 points a night in places such as Maldives and London. These points can be burnt for food and beverage or spa vouchers as well.

Apart from this, there are many other ways you could use these points. For starters, you could transfer your points to over two dozen airline partners for air miles. The minimum conversion rate here is 1:1. If you are converting them to Singapore Airline’s KrisFlyer miles, you get 1.25 miles for each GC Award point. Closer home, you can convert your points to Taj InnerCircle points as well. You get 67 Taj InnerCircle points for every 100 GC Award points.

Shangri-La’s new promotion is a good opportunity for Shangri-La loyalists to earn some extra points. Golden Circle Award points are one of the more versatile points when it comes to the number of airline conversion partners. So if you don’t plan on burning your points with Shangri-La, you can transfer them to your preferred airline loyalty program.
