Etihad Airways has started July with a bang, celebrating the arrival of its loyalty programme, Etihad Guest’s ten millionth member.
Etihad Guest celebrates 10 million members.
Etihad Guest, Etihad Airways’ loyalty programme, has signed up its ten millionth guest in the past weeks. Mark Potter, the Managing Director of Etihad Guest, explains that the programme membership has added about 2 million members in the past 19 months (since the start of 2023).
As a celebration of the 10 Millionth Member, the person who signed up as the ten millionth member will see their status upgraded to Platinum Status, this is the top-tier status for the airline and can be earned by achieving 125,000 tier miles with the airline (apart from the newly introduced Diamond status, which requires a lot of premium cabin travel).
The Etihad Guest loyalty programme, launched in 2006, has its largest membership bases in the UAE, India, the UK, the USA, and Australia, mirroring the airline’s expansion into new markets and frequencies.
Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest, said,
Today’s landmark moment comes as we activate the programme enhancements we announced earlier this year, offering a diverse range of personalised benefits to guests from the moment they join.
Etihad Guest now offers free access to onboard Wi-Fi Chat packages to base tier (Bronze) members, enabling everyone to be connected on WhatsApp, iMessage, and Messenger during their flight.
In a recent move, the Etihad Guest Programme has also introduced Custom Benefits, allowing members to take control of their perks. Members can go into their profiles and select the custom benefits that suit them, allowing them to journey on their terms.
Additionally, Beyond Benefits have been introduced. These are bonus perks to reward the most loyal members who go above and beyond. Gold Tier members earning 75,000 Tier Miles or Platinum Tier members earning 175,000 Tier Miles can choose two Beyond Benefits.
Remember, if you are an Etihad regular and would like to join the higher echelons of Etihad without having to do the hard work, you can still sign up for the Etihad Guest status match and get Gold Status for just USD 99. Read all about it here (only for India and Australia).
Bottomline
Etihad Guest has just reached the milestone of 10 million members. The airline will give the 10 millionth member the Platinum status straight out of the door rather than having them work through the 125,000 tier miles over time.
What do you think of Etihad Guest’s growth over the years?
